Angelina Jolie Attends White House Dinner With Son Maddox
Angelina Jolie, 47, made a rare public appearance with her eldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 21, at the White House state dinner in Washington.
The event was held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the alliance between the United States and the Republic of Korea and to welcome South Korean President Yoon Suk-you and his wife, Kim Keon-hee.
The actress and humanitarian was dressed in an off-white, vintage Chanel blazer over a flowy white dress with a plunging V-neckline, while Maddox wore a fitted black peacoat over a white button-down shirt and tie. The mother-son duo posed for photos on the red carpet, looking elegant and confident.
While it was undoubtedly an exciting event for Jolie, it was also a proud moment for the mother of six. Maddox, who has been a source of pride and inspiration for the actress since his adoption from Cambodia in 2002, is well-versed in South Korean culture because he attends school there.
Along with Maddox, Jolie shares five other children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt: sons Pax, 19, Knox Léon, 14, and daughters Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 16, and Vivienne, 14.
The Mother-Son Duo Was Treated To A Presidential Musical Performance
Moments before the lavish dinner was over, The President of South Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol, shocked guests with a performance of the classic song "American Pie" by Don McLean.
South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol grabbed a mic and sang the Don Mclean classic “American Pie” to an astonished audience at the White House state dinner.

"We know this is one of your favorite songs, 'American Pie,'" Biden told Yoon.
"Yes, that's true," Yoon replied through a Korean translator. "When I was going to school, it was one of my favorite songs."
"We want to hear you sing it," Biden said. "It's been a while, but..." Yoon trailed off before singing the first part of the song as Biden handed him a signed guitar by McLean for his rendition.
Angelina Jolie Played Coy On Plans Post United Nations Exit
Somewhere along the line at the state house dinner, the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" star was asked what was next for her following her exit from the United Nations. She ignored the question and continued to smile for the cameras.
When asked about Seoul, Maddox reportedly replied, "Great," having attended Yonsei University. A source close to the actress told People Magazine, "Angelina has visited South Korea many times for her humanitarian and refugee advocacy over the past two decades and as an artist. Angelina and Maddox are honored to attend this state dinner."
Jolie is well known for her extensive humanitarian work. She has been a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador since 2001. She has since been actively involved in raising awareness for refugee crises and advocating for their protection and rights.
In addition to her work with refugees, Jolie has been involved in various other humanitarian efforts, including advocating for women's and children's rights, promoting education and healthcare, and supporting conservation efforts in multiple countries.
