'Idol' Fans Call Out Ryan Seacrest Out
Seacrest has been a familiar face on "American Idol," as he's played host on the show since it premiered in 2002. However, despite his popularity, some fans have recently criticized him for his harsh approach when calling out results on the popular singing show.
The criticism stems from Seacrest's "brutal" and often harsh approach when announcing results to the show's competitors. Fans took issue with how he delivered the news, claiming it could be hurtful and insensitive to the contestants.
At some point during the show, while informing contestant Olivia Soli if she made it through, Seacrest said, "Last night, you sang a Celine Dion classic. Katy told you to keep playing the power card. After the vote, Americans want to see more power..."
After this, cheers erupted from the audience members. However, Seacrest completed his sentence, "... not in the top 12."
Fans took to social media to express their dissatisfaction with Seacrest's approach, with one saying he was "being such a d**k tonight."
"Ryan is doing a terrible job delivering this news," one viewer wrote, with another adding, "Why is Ryan being so harsh?"
Another fan described Seacrest's approach as "just evil," however, some other fans praised him for handling the show well.

According to The Sun, Seacrest left the producers of "American Idol" high and dry when responding to a fan's question about why he doesn't sing on the show.
Moments before hosting the show, he shared a video of himself singing to One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" but struggled to get the lyrics right.
"I can't remember the words, but I like this song," he said as he hummed to the song's lyrics. Seacrest captioned the post, "On the way to our first live #Idol show. And don't let some forgotten lyrics fool you; I love this song."
One fan commented: "Ryan… you should sing on Idol," to which he subtly replied, "Just waiting for them to ask." Some people took his response as a shade towards the show's producers, although it is more playful banter.
