Joanna & Chip Gaines brought their A-Game to the White House state dinner!

The event, hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, saw the couple glowing in their stunning all-black outfits on Wednesday night. They, alongside other notable figures, including actress Angelina Jolie, had turned up in their Sunday bests to honor South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee.

When Chip and Joanna attended the fancy black-tie dinner held in the East Room, they ensured that they made a statement with their outfits. While Chip paired a three-piece black tuxedo with a collared white undershirt, his wife stunned in a matching floor-length tube dress and minimal makeup.

The only jewelry on the home improvement star's body were her tiny earrings, wedding, and fashion rings. Her long tresses, divided in the middle, were styled to one side of her face, emphasizing her bare neckline. The New York Times bestseller shared her and her husband's look in a five-slide post that began with them posing arm-in-arm in front of the White House.

The pair looked blissful in the second image, which showed Chip with both hands in his pockets while his wife held a small black purse with gold trimmings in her hand. A cross-section of guests is sighted on the third slide, with the fourth being a selfie of the excited Magnolia co-founders at the dinner venue. In the caption, she wrote:

"What an honor it was to be a part of tonight's State Dinner to celebrate the 70 year alliance between the United States of America and my mother's home country of South Korea. Coming off the heels of our incredible trip to Seoul, this evening was another reminder of just how proud I am to be a Korean American."

"What a special event to go to, an incredible evening," a second fan wrote. A third person chimed, "I love your success and how authentic you both are. Congrats on all your accolades."

The post equally got adverse reactions from critics who shared their disappointment that Chip and Joanna were "democrats." One person never vowed to purchase their products again because "Canoodling with the Bidens is disgusting."

Even though a few people came to their defense, the mood was certainly more welcoming when the 45-year-old beauty posted a reel from her family's trip to Seoul on Instagram earlier this month.

Per The Blast, the compilation featured several sweet moments, like the Baylor University alum and her mom trying on traditional hanboks and the family bonding over a baseball game. The video also showcased her dad — Jerry — enjoying a stroll with her, Chip, and their kids, walking around and taking in the sights.

Joanna explained through the caption that the trip manifested her mother's wish to take "her three daughters to  Seoul, Korea when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom." Over five thousand people have expressed how "beautiful" the compilation looked in the post's comment section.

Chip and Joanna suffered a mishap when they had to take down one of the shows from their Magnolia Network just two days after it premiered on Disney+. As The Blast reported in January 2022, the "Homework" series featured a Utah-based couple, Andy and Candis Meredith, transforming a school into their family home.

While the duo appeared to have done an excellent job on their property, they had a bitter experience working on other people's homes. One of their affected clients, Aubry Benion, whose kitchen was seemingly renovated by the "Fixer Upper" hosts in 2019, recounted her experience via Instagram.

She claimed that the job, which was supposed to take less than a month to complete, eventually took five months. On top of that, the project was riddled with delays, such as the drainage problem after the Merediths installed a sprinkler system.

Benion said that fixture resulted in a near-flooding situation as the pair had built a deck in the same position. She eventually gave up after she complained about the challenges the renovation caused her were overlooked.

Upon receiving more negative feedback from other clients, Magnolia Network released a statement claiming they were investigating the claims. The Merediths also denied any wrongdoing in the matter.
