Sydney Sweeney Reveals Flirty Nickname For Co-Star Glen Powell Amid Affair Rumors

Rumors of a romance between the two actors have been circulating since they began filming together in Australia and have heightened since they started promoting the movie.

Powell's girlfriend, Gigi Paris, unfollowed Sweeney on Instagram, fueling the affair rumors.

At CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas, Sydney Sweeney and her rom-com co-star Glen Powell attended the event to promote their upcoming romantic-comedy film, "Anyone But You." As the first trailer played, Powell joked about loving seeing themselves on the big screen, to which Sweeney responded with a flirty nickname, calling him "Top Gun," per People magazine.

Delighted by Sweeney's nickname for him, the "Top Gun: Maverick" actor told the convention attendees that "I love when she calls me that." The chemistry between the two actors was reportedly palpable, with Sweeney even joking about mistaking Powell for Miles Teller, Tom Cruise's co-star in the "Top Gun" sequel, "until the fourth day of shooting ['Anyone But You']."

"You knew I'm not Miles Teller," Powell said, to which Sweeney playfully replied, "No, I did. I thought you were Tom Cruise, though."

While appearing at CinemaCon 2023, Sweeney and Powell described their upcoming rom-com film, "Anyone But You," as a story about two characters who hate each other. Powell jokingly referred to Sweeney's character as a "nightmare" while she playfully called his character an "a**hole." 

Powell revealed that the movie was shot in Australia, saying, "And what better place to put a nightmare and an a**hole than on the other side of the world in the most romantic setting imaginable?"

Despite their on-screen animosity, Sweeney and Powell seemed quite cozy during their photo shoot at the event, as they could not keep their hands off each other. However, both actors are currently in relationships, with Sweeney engaged to Jonathan Davino and Powell dating Gigi Paris.

Paris reportedly unfollowed Sweeney on social media, leading to rumors that she and Powell may have split due to a rumored affair with Sweeney.

Amid speculations that she and Powell have become more than just friends while filming "Anyone But You," Sweeney appeared to address the rumors with a cheeky shirt. 

In a behind-the-scenes video shared by her hairstylist Glen Oropeza and makeup artist Melissa Hernandez on Instagram, the "Euphoria" actresses wore a "That's So Fetch" baby tee with the slogan, "Kiss the boys and make them cry." 

Sweeney also shared a clip of herself wearing the same black-and-white crop top on a rooftop in Los Angeles, with the caption, "pit stop in la la land." 

Since heading Down Under to shoot "Anyone But You" in Sidney, Australia, the two were spotted filming sizzling scenes in swimwear. According to Page Six, the "White Lotus" actress showed off her famous curves in a white floral bikini as she danced around a sailboat in the harbor. The co-stars have also been sightseeing around the city, further fueling rumors of a possible romance. 

Speculations are rife that there is trouble in paradise for Powell and his girlfriend Paris after the model unfollowed Sweeney on Instagram. Paris had initially shown her support for Sweeney when the casting news for their film "Anyone But You" was announced earlier this year, commenting "?? ? ," on the actress's IG post from Jan. 11

According to rumors circulating on the popular gossip account DeuxMoi, the couple's relationship has been rocky since Powell began filming with Sweeney in Sydney. Paris flew out to the Sydney film set to be with Powell in March but returned to the US less than two weeks later, leaving fans to wonder what happened.

Powell and Paris were first romantically linked together in 2020 when they were spotted vacationing in Mexico. They confirmed their relationship in 2021, and Paris was by Powell's side throughout his press tour for "Top Gun: Maverick" last summer. Meanwhile, Sweeney has been engaged to restaurateur Jonathan Davino since February 2022. Whether he traveled to visit his fiancée on set in Australia is unclear.
