"Seinfeld" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus recently shared a heart-wrenching experience from her past on the "Wiser Than Me" podcast. The 62-year-old actress spoke candidly about her journey to motherhood and the miscarriage she suffered when she was just 28 years old after marrying her husband, Brad Hall, in 1987.

During the discussion with guest Ruth Reich, Louis-Dreyfus recalled the moment she learned about her pregnancy. "When I was about 28, I got pregnant for the first time, and I was crazy happy," she shared. "I got pregnant easily. I felt very fertile, very womanly. And then, quite late in the pregnancy, my husband Brad and I discovered that this little fetus would not live."

The actress said the experience was "emotionally devastating" and worsened when she was later infected and hospitalized. "I finally got out of the hospital and came home to recuperate, but I wasn't allowed to get out of bed yet. I was, as they say, bedridden," she recalled.

In the podcast episode, the 11-time Emmy winner spoke about the support she received during her recovery. She revealed that her mother came to stay with her and her husband, and together they created a comforting environment that made her feel loved and cared for.

Reminiscing the loving moment, she said, "She made this great cozy chili in a cast iron skillet with cornbread on top in the pan. She and my husband Brad set up a little card table at the foot of the bed. And the smell of that cornbread and the chili was so wonderful."

Although she could not eat solid foods due to her recovery, the smell of the food and the sweet gesture brought her a sense of comfort, and she describes the experience as one of her "greatest memories." She added, "It didn't matter. It was the best meal ever, and I didn't even eat it. The making of it was so comforting and so embracing."

Her Battle With Cancer

Despite the devastating loss of their first child, Louis-Dreyfus and Hall went on to build a beautiful family and are proud parents of two sons, Henry Hall and Charlie Hall, born in 1992 and 1997, respectively.

In 2017, Louis-Dreyfus was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she bravely battled with the support of her family and friends. After announcing that she was cancer-free in 2019, the actress spoke to People magazine in April 2020 about her support system's impact on her recovery. "You hear it all the time, but the people I relied on the most, besides the competent doctors and nurses who took care of me, were my family and my close friends," she said.

Louis-Dreyfus's younger son, Charlie Hall, has followed in his mother's acting footsteps. Recently, he played the role of Andrew in the second season of the HBO series "The Sex Lives of College Girls."

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the actress hilariously admitted to having watched her son's "very racy" scenes in the HBO series, and she was all praise for him. "I did watch the show, and I think he was, you know, really great," she said. "He was adorable. He was f—king some girl in the library, and I thought it was dynamite."

When Kimmel joked about how it must feel to see her son having sex in a library after teaching him how to read, Louis-Dreyfus replied with her trademark sense of humor, saying it was "totally" a proud moment for her.
