Boxer Rocky Lockridge, Famous for 'Intervention' Scream, Dies at 60

Boxer Rocky Lockridge, who famously let out a blood-curdling scream on "Intervention," is dead after complications from multiple strokes.

Rocky passed away Thursday morning after being in hospice care at his home. The Retired Boxers Foundation says the former boxer was pulled from life support a week ago after struggling from two separate strokes.

His death was reported to the Gloucester, Camden, Salem County Medical Examiner by Compassionate Care Hospice.

The 60-year-old, who famously beat Roger Mayweather for the World Super Featherweight Title in 1984, had reportedly remained sober following his stint on "Intervention" in 2009.

In the weeks leading up to his death, Lockridge had been unable to swallow and was hooked up to a feeding tube. He also suffered from pneumonia after food aspirated into his lungs. Lockridge's caregiver had set up a GoFundMe for him in recent weeks to help cover his mounting medical bills.

After appearing on "Intervention," and becoming an Internet legend for his wail, Lockridge spent 90 days in a facility and got his life back on track.

Rocky's son, Rick, posted about his father's death and said, "All he wanted was to be in the comfort of his home with friends/ family. God has called him to walk through the gates of heaven."
