It was also observed that their custody arrangement remains the same, as they had previously agreed to joint physical custody of their two children, son Cree and daughter Cairo. In an exclusive interview with the publication in November 2022, Mowry spoke candidly about her challenges divorcing Hardrict.
She described the process as "very difficult" and emphasized that it required great strength and resilience. According to the 44-year-old, focusing on self-improvement and self-care was vital to reaching a place where the decision to end the marriage became clearer.
"I feel like when you continue to work on yourself and work on yourself and work on loving yourself and valuing yourself and having self-worth, the decision becomes easier," the "Sister, Sister" alum stated.
'Twitches Too' Star Redefines What Success Means In The Wake Of Her Divorce
During an episode of "TODAY with Hoda & Jenna," the actress spoke with hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb about the end of her marriage to Cory Hardrict. As reported by The Blast, during the interview, she shared a new perspective on the dissolution of her relationship, stating that she did not view it as a failure.
She then explained, "I look at it as like a curriculum when you're in college or high school. You're learning; you're growing; you're evolving; you're creating." The "Seventeen Again" actress also reflected on the positive aspects of her marriage to the 43-year-old.
She expressed gratitude for the two "beautiful, amazing children" that they created together and likened the end of their relationship to graduation or celebration after completing a curriculum. "At the end of that curriculum, there's a graduation; there's a celebration," the "Baggage Claim" guest star shared, adding, "So that's basically how I'm looking at it now."
She also emphasized the importance of considering happiness, growth, and fulfillment when evaluating the success of a marriage. In her view, too many people equate a successful marriage with longevity alone when other factors are equally important.
She believes the key to a successful marriage is not simply "staying in something" but prioritizing one's happiness and well-being. "Really, again, are you happy? Because life is concise," she added.
