Actress Hayley Atwell Is Reportedly Engaged 10 Months After Breakup With Tom Cruise

British-American actress Hayley Atwell is reportedly engaged to singer Ned Wolfgang Kelly. News of her engagement comes ten months after her split from "Top Gun: Maverick" actor Tom Cruise.

The "Mission: Impossible 7" co-stars started dating in 2020 after meeting on the set of the movie, but their relationship didn't work out, opting to rather stay as friends.

According to the Daily Mail, the "Marvel's Agent Carter" star, 41, is engaged to her musician boyfriend Ned Wolfgang Kelly months after the pair began their romance.

As confirmed by the news outlet, Kelly took to his private Instagram account to share the news of their engagement, noting that he went on his knees during a getaway in Venice.

"Lucky me!" he wrote. "Arrived in Venice at 10 a.m., around midday, the love of my life and I got engaged in the kitchen of this strange apartment surrounded by ducks, with a bloke outside the window murdering 'My Way' on the accordion."

He added, "A perfect start to the rest of our lives together. I'd never been interested in getting married... until I met this extraordinary woman. Happy as a clam."

The newly engaged couple tends to keep their relationship out of the public eye and is rarely pictured together. 

The "Blinded by the Light" actress started dating Kelly after her on-and-off relationship with Tom Cruise before finally calling it quits in 2022, per The Sun.

At the time, Atwell and Kelly sparked dating rumors after they were photographed in a matching Mickey Mouse ensemble during a trip to Disneyland in California.

A source close to the pair told the news outlet, "Hayley's happiness is written on her face now. They get on like a house on fire and make a very handsome couple."

According to The Sun, Ned's website says he has produced commercial music for big brands such as Bud Light, Headspace, and Samsung. He has also scored films, worked on the design side of projects, and penned several articles.

According to Daily Mail, the "Top Gun: Maverick" actor, 60, and the "Testament of Youth" actress dated on and off for about two years before calling it a wrap on their romance in 2022.

Atwell and Cruise temporarily pulled the brakes on their relationship in September 2021 and later got reunited, only to call it off again barely a year later.

A source told the publication, "Unfortunately, it hasn't worked out for them. They have now decided they are better as friends," adding that the buzz around their going public with the relationship brought on a lot of pressure.

"They get on well and have fantastic chemistry, which is why they decided to give the relationship another try earlier this year quietly," the source revealed. "What was working behind closed doors didn't work out so well when it was made public, and the fanfare around them as a couple exploded again."

The insider also noted that Atwell and Cruise were genuinely dating at the time, and their reported romance wasn't as much about the camera as widely speculated. The pair were rumored to have become "fairly inseparable" after "hitting it off from day one" on the film's set, even though they had never publicly acknowledged their relationship.

The actress left hearts racing as she stepped out in style for the 2023 British Academy Film Awards ceremony.
