At the time, Esther revealed to Radar Online that the Olympic gold medalist had undergone surgery to become a woman, and she supported her daughter's decision.
"I just learned about his transition. Bruce filled me in, and we had a long, long, long talk about it," she told the publication.
"I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker. He instills enthusiasm in people. He's gifted," Esther added.
Esther Jenner Didn't Like 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians'
According to the US Sun, Esther made her true feelings known when she divulged that she wasn't a fan of her daughter's famous reality show, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians."
In an interview with the news outlet, she said the show was "plotless" and that she wasn't fond of it.
"I think that Kardashian show is the most senseless thing I have ever watched, but my two granddaughters, Kendall and Kylie, created it, and I love them dearly," she told the US Sun. "They're my blood. And my four step-grandchildren—Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, and Robert—feel like they're mine, too."
"When your child becomes, oh golly, world-famous, it's very difficult for a mother to put them in that category, she's not a celebrity to me; she's my kid," she added.
