McAdams, 44, was all for body positivity during her photoshoot for Bustle Magazine, as she flaunted her beauty and curves while lounging on a couch for the shoot.

The "Mean Girls" actress reportedly asked the publication not to overedit the pictures, and that's what they did because her armpit hair was visible in the finished photos of her fully unwinding on the couch while wearing a black, form-fitting gown.

She said, "With this shoot, I'm wearing latex underwear. But I've had two children. This is my body, and I think it's so important to reflect that out to the world."

She added, "It's OK to look your best, work at it, and be healthy, but that's different for everyone."

According to Bustle Magazine, McAdams also weighed in on the two-year break she took from the big screen, noting that she sometimes still feels guilty about the decision.

The "Time Traveler's Wife" actress explained that although she didn't know why she decided first, its effect paid off in her life as it helped "empower" her and allowed her to "take back some control."

"I guess I always had a sense that it would be OK; either it's going to work out or it's not," she said of her career. "The breaks from acting helped me feel empowered. It helped me feel like I was taking back some control. And I think it allowed me to come in from a different doorway."

At some point during her interview with the publication, McAdams divulged that she sometimes questioned her decision to take an acting hiatus, as she feared she was "throwing it all away" after turning down substantial movie roles.

Per the publication, the "Midnight in Paris" actress turned down starring roles in "The Devil Wears Prada," "Casino Royale," "Mission: Impossible III," and "Iron Man," to mention a few.

She reflected on the missed opportunity, admitting that she occasionally wished to do those movies. Still, given their eventual success, she joked that the actors were perfect for the roles.

McAdams also shared that it took time for her to come to terms with what she was doing at the time, noting that she prioritized her mental health over navigating the pangs of fame at that young age.

"I felt guilty for not capitalizing on the opportunity I was being given because I knew I was in such a lucky spot," she admitted. "But I also knew it wasn't quite jiving with my personality and what I needed to stay sane."

She added, "There were some anxious moments of wondering if I was just throwing it all away, and why was I doing that? It's taken years to understand what I intuitively was doing."

Motherhood Helped Rachel McAdams With Her New Movie Role

The actress took the opportunity to promote a new movie she starred in titled "Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret," which is a film adaptation of the same-titled Judy Blume's classic novel.

McAdams spoke about how having children aided her in portraying Margaret's mother in an interview with the news source.

"She's such a great mom. She's imperfect, but that makes her perfect," she told People magazine of her role as Barbara Simon. "As a mom, it's not hard to find the messiness and the privilege of watching a child grow up and be their parent."

She added, "I think that's an auspicious place, a spot to be in, and I think Barb feels that."
