Over the weekend, Disney Parks announced a major change coming to its Star Tours attraction, located inside three different Parks around the world.
Walt Disney Imagineering broke the news during its Star Wars Celebration 2023 panel in London.
Changes Coming To Star Tours Ride In Disney
Next year, “Star Wars” fans will see changes within the Star Tours attraction in Disneyland park in California, Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, and Disneyland Paris in France.
“Since it debuted at Disneyland in 1987 as the first Star Wars attraction in a Disney park, Star Tours has traveled to new places as this galaxy of stories expanded. We’re looking forward to continuing that tradition next year with all new adventures … but I can’t reveal just where we’re going yet – or those we may meet along the way – because … well … some surprises are best experienced as part of the upcoming Star Wars content also announced this weekend. Here’s hoping C-3PO’s piloting skills have improved!,” Disney Parks Blog reported.
More On Star Tours
Star Tours is an attraction located inside Disneyland park in California, Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, and Disneyland Paris in France. The ride takes fans into a galaxy far, far away, but be warned — there are a few bumps along the way as C-3PO takes control.
The official Disney World website describes the attraction as:
Board your Starspeeder 1000 and prepare for take off! When a series of mishaps unwittingly causes your starship to launch too soon, protocol droid C-3PO takes the controls.
Suddenly, the ship is intercepted by Imperial—or First Order—forces searching for a Rebel spy. To avoid capture, you’ll embark on a thrilling, unpredictable flight that rockets you to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.
Featuring a flight simulator, digital 3D video, Audio-Animatronics characters and “in-cockpit” special effects and music, this attraction immerses you in the Star Wars mythology for an unforgettable intergalactic adventure.
Will your starspeeder elude capture and make it back to the base? May the Force be with you—always.
Keep your eyes peeled as you may see some favorite characters from the “Star Wars” franchise such as Kylo Ren, Boba Fett, Poe Dameron, Princess Leia or Jedi Master Yoda.
At this time, there is no word on exactly when the new updates will come to Star Tours, only that changes will be coming sometime in 2024. Additionally, specific details as to what fans can expect has been kept under wraps.
Oga’s Cantina In Disney Parks
The Star Tours attraction is not the only thing to receive an update as Disney announced Oga’s Cantina, located in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, has a brand-new playlist for you to enjoy when sipping on your favorite out-of-this-world cocktail.
“And speaking of Starspeeder pilots, be sure to check out the new playlist from DJ R3X we just released, featuring more of his favorite tracks you may hear when you visit Oga’s Cantina on Batuu. Turns out R3X may just be a better DJ than pilot … but don’t tell him I said that,” Disney Parks Blog’s report continued.
Oga’s Cantina is located inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Disney World and Disneyland.
