The PrimeTime Emmy Awards Nominee Faceoff With Ex In Bitter Custody Battle
While the NAACP Image Awards winner's life seems like a fairytale dream to some people, The Blast noted that it was not the case. The "Here We Go Again" cameo star was stuck in a bitter custody dispute with her ex, Hartwell, in 2019.
At the time, the former linebacker had appealed against the court's refusal to grant him a new trial and its decision to award his ex-wife primary custody alongside the $3,250 per month child support order.
The judge was not sold on any of Hartwell's arguments, siding with the "Cuttin Da Mustard" star, represented by attorney Tanya Mitchell-Graham. In his demand for a new trial over the custody of Ella, the retired NFL player accused the presiding judge of making "several errors" with the decision to award primary custody to his ex-wife.
Per his motion, Pulliam was to blame for him missing his scheduled visitation time as she often took their daughter out of state, including once to Pennsylvania to show her support for former co-star Bill Cosby during his sexual assault trial.
Hartwell further alleged that his ex denied him visitation on countless other occasions, including eight weeks while she was filming "Celebrity Big Brother." The one-time Las Vegas Locomotives football player demanded a new trial, sharing his belief that he deserved to get joint custody at least. The court has since dismissed his plea, maintaining Pulliam, the winner.
