‘Love Is Blind’ Jackie Claims She Broke Up With Marshall Before Her Date With Josh

Most "Love Is Blind" fans could see this split coming from a mile away!

Although Jackie Bonds and Marshall Glaze found love in the pods during season 4 of “Love Is Blind,” there was another person who caught Jackie's eye: Josh Demas.

Friday's episode made it look like Jackie skipped her bridal fitting to meet with Josh. After Josh confessed his feelings for her, Jackie agreed to get together with him... seemingly while Marshall was getting fitted for his tux, unaware that he had just been dumped.

However, Jackie claims that the show was edited to show things out of order. The 27-year-old dental assistant claims that she actually broke up with Marshall before she agreed to go out with Josh.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jackie said that she broke up with Marshall before she went on her date with Josh. However, she did confess that Marshall was actually getting fitted for his tux when she decided to end their engagement.

"When Marshall was at his suit fitting, I was not on the date at that time," she explained. "That date was on a whole different day. When he was at the suit fitting, I was actually at the townhome waiting for him to come back so I could break up with him."

"And when I went on the date with Josh, I'd already had that conversation with Marshall. We were already broken up," she said.

Although their breakup was pretty intense, Jackie maintains that she made the right decision choosing Marshall in the pods and holds no ill will towards him. "There's no beef, I don't have no problem with him," Jackie said. "If he has a problem with me then that's fine, but I've moved on and I'm not worried about that situation anymore."

Even though she and Marshall went their separate ways, Jackie feels that she made the right choice in the pods and learned some valuable things from their relationship. She even went on to admit that Marshall really showed her "genuine love."

"I don't regret it because at that time I knew that Marshall was the choice for me, because Marshall was emotional, Marshall was soft, Marshall was comforting, he was everything that I wasn't used to," she said of their time together in the pods.

"When I'm going in the pods with Josh, I'm talking about DJ Khaled, and memes, and very light things," she added. "I'm not really having a heavy duty conversation like I am with Marshall. Marshall was like, 'You need that,' instead of Josh, who was a want."

Jackie did admit that she was "accustomed" to dating men like Josh in the past, which is why she decided to choose Marshall. "I was just like, 'Okay, let me go and see if this [works],'" she recalled. "And Marshall taught me a lot."

"Marshall was like, 'You need to be considerate of others, you need to be more open.' He actually showed me genuine love. Marshall really did love me, and now I know how I should be treated, how I should be carrying myself, how I should be mindful of my person," she added. "It wasn't all like, 'You can go burn in h*ll!'"

Jackie faced backlash from fans during episodes 7 and 8. Even at that point, Marshall had left the couple's joint apartment due to a large argument that they had. Marshall said that Jackie had said some hurtful things to him, such as telling him that he "wasn't a man."

Later on in the episode, Jackie told Marshall that he needed to “boss up” and be more “aggressive” with her, which fans felt fed into harmful stereotypes of toxic masculinity.

Although Jackie eventually decided that Marshall was "too sensitive" for her, fans have been nothing but supportive of Marshall, praising his maturity and his openness to communicate.

The finale for season 4 of "Love Is Blind" airs on Friday, April 14. The show's first-ever live reunion will air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, April 16, at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.

UPDATE: Since the episode aired, Jackie has since taken to Instagram to share a statement confirming that she broke up with Marshall before she started dating Josh. She also gave her reasoning for why she decided to keep the ring Marshall gave her.
