"Love Is Blind" fans probably remember Shayne Jansen from season 2, as he recently reappeared in Netflix's "Perfect Match."

Although he didn't find love there either, he seems to be coming out to show at least some degree of support for "Love Is Blind" season 4 reality star Irina Solomonova.

Despite expressing concern that her potential partner might not love her for her appearance, Irina turned around and immediately judged her fiancé's looks right after meeting him - and that's after she displayed some serious "mean girl" energy in the pods, such as laughing at another contestant for crying.

Although fellow “mean girl” Micah Lussier has issued an apology for her comments, Irina has turned comments off on most of her recent Instagram posts – except for one, where Shayne jumped in to try to keep the peace.

In one Instagram post shared on March 20, the event planner – who recently has undergone a rebrand and name change since appearing on the show – shared four photos that featured her posing in an unbuttoned white blouse and blue jeans. She captioned the photo, “Easily a big smile when you’re around.”

Many users took to the comments to criticize her for her behavior on the show, which most “Love Is Blind” reality stars have come to expect. What fans did not expect was Shayne Jansen, who appeared on the show two seasons earlier, to hop in the comments to call for the criticism to stop.

“I know I’ll get a ton of backlash for this. But these comments are honestly absolutely disgusting,” Shayne began without referring to any comments in particular. “Yes, what she did was horrible completely. Completely horrible I don’t defend it. But seeing most of these comments the hate some of you have is sad.”

“My first four eps of my season I couldn’t get out of bed and was horribly depressed from the hate and comments,” he explained. “Just because someone f*cked up it’s ok to completely ruin their life? I’ve done a lot growing and trust me still have plenty. Poke fun sure with some of the scenes but the words I see being used are sad.”

“I promise you there is a better way,” he added. “No one deserves this idc what you did. She will never grow this way. Take that as you will and I’ll take the heat. Love you all.”

Fans Aren't Sure Why Shayne Is 'Defending' Irina: 'Why Are You Defending A Bully?'

The comment got over 3,000 likes and more than 200 comments from fans who were quick to draw a distinction between Shayne’s behavior on the show and Irina’s behavior. Others felt that reality stars should have “expected” the response to their behavior knowing that all of their actions – good and bad – will eventually be made public.

“You all did these stupid things on international television, and opened yourselves up to criticism. Honestly, what did you expect would happen?” one user asked. “Yes you said criticism. These comments are not ‘criticism’ respectfully, Shayne replied. “I’m not trying to argue. Calling someone a peasant isn’t criticism.”

Another user wrote, “What you did wasn’t as bad as her though, I sympathize with you because you got a lot of hate for way minor things. But this girl did a lot worse, not saying she deserves it all but some criticism is bound to happen. All love though Shayne and I’m sorry you struggled for a while.” Shayne replied, “I respect this response. Thank you for having an open mind and genuine conversation.”

“Why are you defending a bully? You weren’t a bully and mean to anyone - you had issues like everyone does and had both good and bad in you,” another user pointed out. “This girl is literally evil and malicious and honestly triggers every single person who has ever been around a person like her and have been bullied and mistreated in the past. So why are you defending such vileness?”

“I wish you could read my post again. Deep breath. I said I don’t defend her. At all. But what good is this doing,” Shayne replied. “There is a better way we all deserve a chance to change and grow. I’m a prime example.”

Shayne Jansen Reminds Fans 'Our Parents Read This Stuff'

The response sparked a long comment from the user, who replied, “There’s definitely room for growth, 100% and i think it’s horrible the shit storm it brings when people put themselves out there like this, to be subjected to it, but still go ahead anyway. I will say this, thank you for responding btw.”

“When I did watch you, I thought you were 100% genuine, truly just misguided in a lot of things, a very interesting, intuitive but sensitive soul. Your growth has been amazing to watch. And inspiring,” they continued. “As you can see, general population take it very seriously with the hate, which is disturbing to say the least. They say the people on tv are the ick; we’re the ick too when we’re fueling more fire to the flame.”

“I appreciate that thank you but I was called autistic/coke head/ my adhd etc. whether that’s true or not billing them doesn’t help by any means,” Shayne responded. “And I’ll say this. Remember our parents read this stuff. We don’t as much but I promise you moms read everything. They feel it just as much about their child.”

It's worth noting that Irina Solomonva ended things with her fiancé Zack Goytowski in Mexico and later went on to pursue Micah’s fiancé Paul Pedenwith no luck. Zack, who couldn't decide whether to marry Irina or Bliss Poureetezadi, is currently trying to make things work with Bliss, who still feels a bit insecure about being Zack's "second pick."

Episode 9 of season 4 of "Love Is Blind" will be released on Netflix on Friday, April 7.
