NFL star Jason Kelce had a few things to say about his wife Kylie's hilarious viral TikTok Video that mocks his performance as her "labor support person." Of course, his brother Travis, also an NFL star, had to get in on the mocking action about the Video on their podcast, "New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce."
Jason Kelce Explained His Role As Kylie's Labor Support Person
During the most recent episode of the Kelce brother's podcast, Kylie's viral TikTok video entered the chat.
"Kylie Kelce gave us some exclusive footage on what it's like having a baby with Snorlax," Travis said as he began the conversation about the Video. "This guy is useless. He sleeps nonstop in the hospital room, giving terrible reviews on bagels."
Jason jumped in to say he didn't give a bad review on the bagel in the Video and clear up what was going on when he looked like he was staring intensely at a bagel in the hospital room.
"I didn't give a bad review on bagels. I ate one side of the bagel. I ordered three bagels cause I couldn't decide which bagel I wanted, so I just ordered three different bagel sandwiches," Jason clarified. "So everybody thought I was examining the bagel for the perfect bite, but I was just trying to figure out which bagel I ordered."
After all the teasing about eating while Kylie was in labor, Jason explained that there wasn't too much a dad could do while his wife was at work.
"As the dad, there's not much you can do," he said as his brother laughed and asked if he did anything. "I went to the hospital and offered my words of encouragement. I held her hand for the few push she needed because she's a freaking unbelievable champ. She's a baby-making machine."
Travis then asked his brother if he had any advice for new dads-to-be.
"The one piece of advice I've got for dads everywhere is when you're going in for your first baby being born, I don't know if you know this, but it's widespread for the dad to pass out," he continued.
"Here's where all the dads mess up, and you made fun of me about the bagels. You're there for a long time, many times, right? And what happens is these dads who are not experienced in blood sugar levels go in there, don't eat anything for hours, and lie on a couch. And then freaking gets up, your adrenaline goes, and you see a baby pop out of something you've never seen before [faint]. That's because you're blood sugar's low."
Jason's advice to the new dads-to-be is once you know it's time, "pop a granola bar in, bagel sandwich, whatever you've got to do" to help keep blood sugar up during the big event.
