Drake Seemingly Disses Kanye West In New Song By Using His Ex-Wife Kim Kardashian

Drake might have rekindled his feud with Kanye West.

The two previously had beef over Drake's claim that he slept with the Yeezy owner's ex-wife, Kim Kardashian— a claim they both refuted.

Now the Toronto rapper's new song, "Rescue Me," samples audio of the SKIMS co-founder talking about her divorce from the Donda rapper and has set mouths wagging once again.

In the past, Drake has also named dropped his exes in some of his songs, including singers SZA and Jennifer Lopez.

Per Page Six, Drake seemingly dissed Kanye West in his latest song, "Rescue Me," which he previewed on Friday on "The Fry Yiy Show" on SiriusXM's Sound 42.

Although the "Nice for What" crooner did not name-drop his fellow rapper in the track, he did sample audio of West's ex, Kim Kardashian, discussing their divorce in one of the episodes of their former reality series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

"I didn't come this far just to come this far and not be happy. Remember that," the reality star said at the time, referencing her troubled marriage with the "Donda" rapper.

Drake has yet to explain why he added Kim Kardashian's dialogue, although it is widely assumed that it is related to the claim that he once slept with the Skims founder.

The rumor ignited a massive fight between Drake and West at the time, and it appears that the former has no qualms with his current track reigniting that drama.

Kardashian disputed the rumors then, while West stated the two never had an affair. However, West would later criticize Drake for appearing as if he was having an affair with his wife and allowing the rumor to grow widely.

"You acted like you did," West said about his fellow rapper in a 2021 interview on the "Drink Champs." "It's like somebody throwing a marble and hiding their hand."

However, in October 2022, West appeared to hint that their feud had ended after Drake "liked" a post of his amid backlash from his controversial Paris show.

"EVERYONE KNOWS ME AND DRAKE HAVE HAD A RIVALRY IN THE PAST IT REALLY WARMED MY HEART TO SEE DRAKE LIKE ONE OF MY POST [sic]," Ye wrote on Instagram, adding that Drake's music will be played at his now-defunct school, Donda Academy's basketball team.

In the meantime, neither West nor Kardashian has publicly commented on Drake using the dialogue in his song.

Drake's use of Kardashian dialogue is unsurprising, given his penchant for mentioning ex-girlfriends in his songs. He claimed that he dated the "Kill Bill" singer SZA in his song "Mr. Right Now," which dropped in 2021.

"Yeah, said she wanna f— to some SZA, wait / 'Cause I used to date SZA back in '08," a line from the track read.

The rapper's relationship with singer and actress Jennifer Lopez was also seemingly referenced in "Diplomatic Immunity," where Drake rapped, "2010 was when I lost my halo/2017, I lost a J."

He also mentioned his first girlfriend and singer, Keshia Chanté, and a woman named "KiKi," in his hit song "In My Feelings."

In a recent appearance on Lil Yachty's "A Moody Conversation," Drake revealed that he regretted name-dropping his exes, adding that he also regretted calling out older rappers.

"I think that, and sometimes when I've said girls' names in songs, maybe those are the two things that I look back on, and I'm like, 'Maybe I could've done without, like, sh–ing on people for age or disrupting somebody's life,'" the 36-year-old said.

He added that one of his ex-girlfriends had warned him that his acts could wreck their lives, particularly their relationships with others.

He recalled the ex saying, "'You don't know who my boyfriend is at the time, or you don't know what my family knows or doesn't know. And if you express any form of discontent for me and call me by name in a song, then all of a sudden, I'm left to pick up the pieces of my own life that I've tried to build up for myself.'"
