From Wolverine To Sunscreen Advocate: Hugh Jackman Shares Important Health Message

The star has been open about his battle with skin cancer since he was first diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma in 2013. Since then, the actor has undergone multiple surgeries to remove cancerous cells from his skin.

After a recent medical check-up, the producer disclosed in a clip via his Instagram page that he is going through additional tests. Sporting a bandage on his nose, he explained that he underwent two biopsies and that his doctor saw small spots that could be basal cell carcinoma.

The actor reassured fans, saying, "I'll find out in two or three days, and as soon as I know, I'll let you know." Despite it being the least dangerous form of skin cancer, Jackman used the opportunity to remind his fans about the importance of wearing sunscreen.

In an interview with BBC, he spoke candidly about how filming the movie "The Son" took a toll on his mental health. He revealed that psychiatrists were available on set during the filming process to provide support and assistance to the cast and crew if needed.

He explained that he had never seen such a practice, but having them on set was crucial to the filming process. The "Tony Awards" winner noted that although part of him felt it was up to individuals to handle their mental health themselves, it was a great sign when an employer cared for their workers' well-being in all aspects.

'The Greatest Showman' Star Admits Wolverine Role Took A Toll On His Voice

Last month, The Blast disclosed that the actor shared that his performance as the Marvel character Wolverine had an adverse effect on his voice. He admitted that some techniques he used while portraying the character would have surprised his vocal coach from his drama school days.

Speaking with BBC's Front Row, "The Music Man" star stated, "I've done some damage to my voice with Wolverine. My falsetto is not as strong as it used to be, and that I directly put down to some of the growling and yelling."

He explained that while he had been taught techniques to properly shout and yell, the number of times he did it might have caused some damage. Thankfully he mentioned that he was taking steps to protect his voice by working with a singing teacher and making a conscious effort to prepare himself vocally and physically for each role he takes on.
