Actor Alec Baldwin paid tribute to his late mother, Carol Baldwin, through The Baldwin Fund at the end of March, which is widely celebrated as Women's History Month.
In late May 2022, the "30 Rock" actor took to Instagram to announce that the founder of a Central New York breast cancer research fund had passed away at age 92. The Baldwin matriarch was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1990.
After going through a double mastectomy, she founded the Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund in 1996. After moving back to Syracuse, she also helped form the Central New York chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, according to Stony Brook Medicine.

Although the “Beetlejuice” actor has been relatively quiet on social media following the two involuntary manslaughter charges he is facing for the shooting of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, he did take a moment to share a message from The Baldwin Fund on Instagram.
“Here at The Baldwin Fund, we proudly celebrate Women’s History Month and could not let March end without sharing why we are here!” the statement began. “We would not be here without our incredible founder, who bravely and courageously led this fight for a cure."
"Carol M. Baldwin won her battle with breast cancer; she then decided to help other women overcome this vicious disease," they explained. "In 2001, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY was established.”
“By her side, since day one of this critical mission, has been Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Baldwin, Carol's daughter. As the executive director of The Baldwin Fund, Beth has dedicated much of her life to caring for the Central NY community and ensuring critical funding for breast cancer research!” they continued. “She proudly carries the torch, along with her family and those who have made finding a cure their mission.”
“We are determined to find a cure together. We continue Carol's mission daily and honor the legacy she left us. Share your stories with us and help us celebrate these amazing women,” they concluded, wrapping up the post with the hashtag #TogetherWeWillFindACure.
