Madonna Adds Extra Date To "Celebrate" The LGBTQ+ Community

Amid an outpouring of anti-drag and anti-trans bills across the U.S., Madonna has made her stance clear by making a welcome change to her upcoming "Celebration" tour plans. The "Like a Prayer" hitmaker announced that a stop in Nashville, Tennessee, along with seven other cities, have been added to her tour, set to kick off in July in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The 64-year-old shared her reason for including the state capital in her list of stops in a press release, writing that "the oppression of the LGBTQ+ is not only unacceptable and inhumane; it's creating an unsafe environment."

She added that the new laws made "America a dangerous place for our most vulnerable citizens, especially trans women of color. The "Back That Up To The Beat" singer pointed out the needlessness of "these so-called laws to protect our children," referencing the bills signed by Republican Governor Bill Lee of Tennessee on March 2.

While the first bill restricted public drag show performances, the second prohibited gender-affirming care for transgender minors. Per her missive, Madonna assured her fans that she and Bob the Drag Queen — her opening act for the entirety of the tour — would see their fans "from the stage in Nashville where we will celebrate the beauty that is the queer community."

The singer-songwriter's many fans applauded the considerate move, with one commenting, "Excellent & thoughtful message. Continue to CAUSE COMMOTIONS for good causes and important stances!" Another fan appreciated the "4 Minutes" for "continuing to fight against hate," and a third stated that she is "always on the right side of history."

The addition of the concert, which will play on December 22 at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, comes just two weeks after she teased fans about the possibility of getting more tour dates.

As reported by The Blast, the mother-of-six uploaded footage of her swaying to The Queens' remix of Beyoncé's 2022 hit single, "Break My Soul," via Instagram, telling her supporters, "New tour dates announced soon………!!."

The Michigan native paired a black corset top with a matching blazer and gloves, a white tulle skirt, and dark spidey glasses for the occasion. Viewers appreciated the Catholic-born artist's thoughtfulness by giving the post almost 180k likes.

Over six thousand people also trooped into the comment section to applaud the "Crazy for You" singer and drop suggestions on the cities she should perform.

Earlier this month, The Blast reported that P!nk took a break from her less than "F**king Perfect" week to stand up for Madonna amid the controversy surrounding her "new face."

The moment came during an interview with Audacy Music's Mike Adam earlier this month, where she addressed the dismissal of the pain she put into making her latest album — "Trustfall."

Explaining, the 43-year-old stated that people were more intent on starting — or rebirthing —  non-existent feuds between her and other female singers than simply enjoying the different styles of their music.

The "Just Like Fire" hitmaker added that even though she spent three years on her album and wrote a song about losing her father, all media outlets wanted from her was her take on Madonna's face. To emphasize the backwardness of it, the mother-of-two said:

"We shouldn't be talking about Madonna's face. We should be talking about all the badass sh*t that woman did for the rest of us to come along after her. That's not progress. That's clickbait."

The debate over the "Like a Virgin" singer's face occurred after she climbed the Grammys stage to introduce musical powerhouses Sam Smith and Kim Petras for their win in the 'Best Pop Duo/Group Collaboration' category.

Many viewers had taken to social media to express their views on how "odd" the award winner's face looked, which Madonna has since blamed on the angle of the "long lens camera" that captured her that night.
