'Harry Potter' Star Daniel Radcliffe Is Reportedly Expecting His 1st Child With Girlfriend Erin Darke

According to reports, Daniel Radcliffe, known for his role in "Harry Potter," and his long-term girlfriend, Erin Darke, are expecting a baby. The announcement came after the couple was recently spotted in New York City, a rare appearance following their last red carpet walk a year ago. 

Although they have been together since 2012, Radcliffe and Darke keep their personal lives out of public scrutiny. In an interview, Radcliffe shared that he wouldn't want fame for his kid.

The star of "Harry Potter," Daniel Radcliffe, is expecting his first child with his longtime partner, Erin Darke.

According to a source from The Sun, Radcliffe is thrilled to become a father. "Daniel is so excited to be a dad," he said. "His relationship with Erin is really special, and everyone thinks they will be amazing parents," he added. 

The insider also disclosed that the couple had been keeping the news under wraps; Darke's pregnancy bump has now become more noticeable.

The baby announcement comes shortly after the couple was spotted on a rare outing in New York City. The duo, who have been together for over a decade, was seen out and about with Darke, 38, flaunting her growing baby bump in a black zip-up hoodie, as seen in photos obtained by Daily Mail.

Darke, known for her role in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," completed her look with black leggings, a black-and-white peacoat, and orange ankle boots. Meanwhile, Radcliffe, 33, relaxed in a blue puffer jacket and a blue-and-yellow beanie as he walked beside his partner.

The couple, who have been together since 2012, are known for their strong desire to keep their personal lives out of the spotlight and focus on their respective careers. They had not made a public appearance together on the red carpet for over a year, and before that, it had been more than eight years since they were photographed together at an event.

The former broadway actor once shared the story of how he and his partner met on the set of their 2013 movie "Kill Your Darlings," in which they share a steamy sex scene. In a lighthearted comment to People magazine in April 2019, he joked, "It'll be a hell of a story to tell our kids one day because of what our characters do with each other. He added, "Our characters are meeting and flirting with each other, so there is this kind of sweet record of us just meeting for the first time and flirting."

Radcliffe told Playboy in October 2015 that " no acting was going on" on his end while shooting the scene. "There's a moment when she makes me laugh, and I'm laughing as me and not as my character. She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble," he recounted. 

During an interview with Newsweek in October about his film "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story," Radcliffe shared his thoughts on achieving fame at a young age. The 33-year-old said that film sets can be wonderful places for kids and stated that he would love for his future kids, "if and when they exist, to be around film sets."

"A dream would be for them to come onto a film set and be like, 'God, you know, I'd love to be in the art department. I'd love to be something in the crew.' Some part of this, but not from that."

However, despite his success and fame, Radcliffe made it clear that he wouldn't wish for his children to deal with the intense public scrutiny and invasion of privacy that often comes with celebrity status stating, "I wouldn't want fame for my kid."
