Former winner Buzzy Cohen first delighted audiences when he won over $160,000 in a nine-game win streak back in 2016. He then went on to win the 2017 Tournament of Champions and hosted the 2021 Tournament of Champions as a guest host.

In addition to being a Chaser on the hit series "The Chase," Buzzy is now also going to host the "This Is Jeopardy!... America's Favorite Quiz Show" podcast that kicks off next month on April 26.

According to Deadline, the podcast will "guide listeners through the six-decade history of the game show featuring contestants and producers" and "include hours of archival tapes as well as Cohen’s own perspective having won on the show."

“For 60 years and counting, Jeopardy! has established itself as a household name. I am so excited for the opportunity to give listeners a never-before-seen look at the show,” Buzzy said in a statement.

“I will examine the impact Jeopardy! has had in cultural conversations and bring on some legendary guests who helped shape Jeopardy! into the show we all know and love,” he continued.

Buzzy also shared the news on Instagram with a screenshot of the Deadline article announcing the new podcast. In the caption, he wrote, “I’m so excited that the world now knows what I’ve been toiling away on these past few months. Coming to a podcast service near you! So many amazing stories. Stay tuned!”

On Twitter, he left a much shorter statement, simply writing, "Coming soon to your ears!" and a link to the article. However, this tweet did catch the attention of former champion, Mattea Roach, who will be appearing in the upcoming "Jeopardy! Masters" spin-off, hosted by Ken Jennings.

Mattea commented, "someone needs to do an investigation into the Jeopardy champion to podcaster pipeline," given how many past "Jeopardy!" contestants are creating their own podcasts.

Mattea is also hosting The Backbench Podcast, which discusses Canadian politics and features rotating panelists.

According to ABC (via The Hollywood Reporter), the new "Jeopardy! Masters" spin-off will feature a “Champions League Style” of gameplay and also be executive produced by showrunner Michael Davies.

Several fan favorites from season 38, including Matt Amodio, Amy Schneider, Mattea Roach, and Andrew He will compete, as well as the 2021 Professor Tournament winner, Sam Buttrey.

James Holzhauer, who also serves as a Chaser on "The Chase" will also compete following his record-breaking win streak from April to June 2019, which created multiple single-game records for winnings. He also won the Tournament of Champions that November.

Meanwhile, in terms of regular "Jeopardy!", Ken Jennings will host the show until April 28. At that point, “The Big Bang Theory” alum Mayim Bialik will take over hosting duties on May 1.

She will host through the rest of the summer, meaning the earliest Ken will probably host regular episodes of “Jeopardy!” again is in September.

Many fans have expressed disappointment with Mayim hosting. One "Jeopardy!" fan commented, "I hate to say it, but I don’t enjoy the show as much when she hosts. Her tone comes across as condescending, and the pauses before she tells people if they’re correct or not is so distracting."

Another follower agreed. "Ken is awesome, engaging, an all-around natural at hosting! If you absolutely have to have two hosts, please consider anyone, but Mayim," they commented. "She is robotic and anything but natural at hosting. She is clearly uncomfortable in that role. She may be a good actress, but an awful host!"
