Majors denied allegations that he assaulted his rumored girlfriend, claiming he was instead the victim.

The actor was arrested on Saturday and was charged with "misdemeanor assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and harassment" after reportedly having a "domestic dispute" with the anonymous 30-year-old woman.

He released a statement through his lawyer Priya Chaudhry after posting bail that same day where he vowed to clear his name.

"Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows," his attorney said in the statement, per The Sun. "We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently."

TMZ earlier reported that Majors and his girlfriend had an altercation while going home in a cab from a bar in Brooklyn. The fight between the two was said to have started after the alleged victim confronted the actor upon seeing him get texts from another woman.

Majors reportedly reacted brashly to the confrontation by grabbing his girlfriend's hand and slapping her. He allegedly also put his hands around her neck during the altercation.

The two ultimately did not spend the night together, after which the woman reportedly filed a report with the police.

Majors is expected back in court in May, where it will be determined whether the charges against him will be dropped.

In the meantime, the charges against him have brought him negative publicity despite the actor yet to be proven guilty.

The Marvel star was featured in the revived "Be All You Can Be" multimillion-dollar ad campaign for the U.S. Army, starring as the on-screen narrator.

However, the military has paused the ad campaign pending the resolution of Majors' legal dilemma.

"The U.S. Army is aware of the arrest of Jonathan Majors, and we are deeply concerned by the allegations surrounding his arrest," said a representative for the Army Enterprise Marketing Office, per Deadline.

"While Mr. Majors is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete."

Majors has also been in the spotlight due to his top roles in Marvel's "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and the third installment of the "Creed" franchise.

He recently discussed how he picks his role in an interview, saying he makes his choice based on the amount of "pressure" that comes with the part.

"You talk about pressure. That's how I pick a role; based on pressure. I look at it, and I go, 'Oh that's going to be difficult,'" Majors said, per NPR.

"I'm going to hit the red zone in that. Magazine Dreams, can I be a bodybuilder? I remember reading the script, and googling, and thinking, 'This is going to be impossible!' Same with Creed. You watch the Rocky film, and you think man, that's so inspiring. But then it can be intimidating when you think [about how] you're supposed to do that."

With the sudden scandal plaguing the star, it is yet to be seen how much it could impact his acting career, especially his relationship with Marvel Studios.
