According to the U.S. Sun, the much-anticipated return of the former talk show host has been stalled as her podcast will no longer see the light of day.

Williams, 58, who's been hinting at the podcast for a while now and was seen filming her reality show, told friends that "there is no podcast."

"It's strange, because she is saying there is no podcast, but is also telling people she's going to return to TV. It's hard to figure out what is based in reality," a source close to Williams told the publication.

Talks about her podcast first picked up steam in 2022 after she launched its Instagram page, and it was reported she planned to record it at her $4.5 million New York City penthouse.

The former radio DJ's manager, Will Selby, divulged that the podcast wasn't going to be a "traditional podcast," as there was a video twist to it where William's daily activities would be documented, calling it a "full Wendy Experience."

"Wendy says podcast, but she doesn't elaborate that it's not going to be a traditional podcast, this is going to be a full podcast show," Selby shared. "I feel like Wendy is a complete experience, that's why the name of her show was 'The Wendy Williams Experience.'"

I want to get the full Wendy experience- everything from filming in her glam room or shooting in her kitchen with her favorite chefs as they prepare food for her and her guests. I want Wendy to feel like she could be as open and honest as possible and I want everything to be at her home."

Selby noted that the video component of the show was important for its overall success, noting that it will help fans get to know Williams on a more personal note and have an idea of her preferences.

Williams, who was recently seen drinking at a gay bar in New York City, has a history of drug and alcohol abuse and frequent admissions to rehab.

According to Page Six, a source shared that her drinking problem had gotten worse as she started taking vodka. Her condition worsened following the altercation with her show's production company, Debmar-Mercury, after it was alleged that they refused to get her help.

"They turned their backs on her," a source claimed. "They had too much control over someone so vulnerable."

Williams' ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, has previously accused the company of refusing to help her because they didn't want anything that would take her off her show's iconic purple chair at the time.

"Debmar would not support Wendy's recovery efforts with the family," Hunter told the news outlet. "They would not sign off on anything that would've helped her recovery efforts."
