Gisele Bündchen Addresses Rumors About Her Divorce
The "Devil Wears Prada" actress spoke to Vanity Fair about some speculations following news of her split from the former football quarterback six months ago. Bündchen explained that the decision took a long time to make.
In response to one of the rumors, that Brady chose his career over his family, Bündchen noted that it was the "craziest thing" she had ever heard and a "very hurtful" assumption. Contrary to the speculation, Bündchen was very much in support of Brady's career decisions during their time together.
The supermodel said being tagged as "somebody who is against football" was a false narrative and that she even grew interested in the sport because of Brady. Bündchen said, per E! News, "Are you kidding me? I learned about it! I used to joke that I was going to be able to be the ref because I've watched so many games. And I loved it."
Gisele Bündchen Wants The Best For Tom Brady
Bündchen noted that she had been a fan of the now 45-year-old since they became friends, and it wouldn't stop now. She has always "cheered" and supported Brady's choices. While they agreed to end their relationship, she intends to "continue forever" and wishes him the best in life.
During the interview, she revealed that there were no ill feelings toward her ex-husband Brady. She said, "If there's one person, I want to be the happiest in the world, it's him, believe me. I want him to achieve and to conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That's what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart."
What Led To Their Divorce?
Bündchen noted that several reasons led them to file for a divorce. While she didn't want to address all of them, the speculations were "one piece of a much bigger puzzle." The star explained that some of the reasons were not the fault of either of them. She said, "It's not so black and white."
Their relationship had grown with time, and they decided it was best to separate. She said, "Sometimes you grow together; sometimes you grow apart." Bündchen recalled how she met Brady in their 20s and how their priorities aligned at the time. "When I was 26 years old and he was 29, we met, we wanted a family, we wanted things together."
After over a decade of marriage, the former couple realized that they "just wanted different things" and made the difficult "choice" to split. However, Bündchen noted that it doesn't mean they no longer love each other. She said, "It just means that for you to be authentic and truly live the life that you want to live, you have to have somebody who can meet you in the middle, right? It's a dance. It's a balance."
Gisele Bündchen And Tom Brady Are 'A Team'
After finishing their divorce last October, Bündchen and Brady are still friends. The duo decided that remaining that way would be best for their kids as they agreed to co-parent them. The supermodel described their current relationship as a team.
She noted in the interview, "We're not playing against each other, We are a team and that's beautiful." Bündchen added that she had "no regrets" about marrying the football star for 13 years. While they agreed to end things, she "loved every bit of it" and will cherish the good memories.
