'The Hills' Star Mischa Barton's Mental Health Issues Dragged Into Court Battle

Mischa Barton's past hospitalization for mental issues could be dragged into her legal battle over crashing into a condo building.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the company suing Barton over her crashing a U-Haul into their building is demanding they be allowed to question the actress about her "level of intoxication and mental health at the time of the accident as impacted by her hospitalization for an apparent breakdown two weeks prior to the accident."

They say "this evidence is relevant not only to her mental state at the time of the crash but also her credibility as to her recollections of the events of the day of the accident."

The company points to an incident weeks before the crash where the star of "The Hills" was hospitalized for acting incoherently (she would later claim she was drugged). They are demanding the judge allow them to bring it up during the upcoming trial.

Park Wellington Owners Association sued Barton over her infamous U-Haul crash into an apartment building back on February 11, 2017.

She had rented a U-Haul truck with her then-boyfriend, Adam Spaw, but crashed it causing damage to the building. Barton has denied all wrongdoing and blamed the building for the accident.

The case is headed to trial on April 30.

Barton recently filed docs demanding Park Wellington not be allowed to bring up any of her past issues with drugs or alcohol during the trial.

She believes they plan on bringing it up in court but said they "should not be permitted to accuse defendant of having taken drugs or alcohol the night of incident where there is no evidence to support this."

Barton claimed there was no evidence that she was under the influence during the crash and says the traffic report taken stated she had not been drinking.
