Ari Lennox Performs Disney Hit, Begs For In-Person Audition For 'The Princess & The Frog'

Ari Lennox is showcasing her talent and auditioning for Disney’s The Princess and the Frog live-action film, if there ever is one.

Lennox set up her camera and stood in a studio space where she was likely rehearsing for more upcoming shows. “Hi @Disney I’m Ari Lennox and I would love an opportunity to audition for Princess and The Frog in person. ❤️ Here’s #AlmostThere By Anika Noni Rose,” she captioned the video.

Ari began both singing and acting out the song in front of a single mic in a grey skirt and white, long sleeve, boatneck top. She sexed up the look with thigh-high boots, This was no tease either, she performed the whole song and shared the entire video on IG.

Lennox even danced a little and at the end hit that long note that Noni Rose mastered in her version. The audition was loved by her almost 2 million followers and the comment section was going crazy.

Since posting the video, Lennox’s comment section has been wild, Everyone wants to see this come to fruition. “YES ARI!!!!!!!!!,” wrote singer and songwriter Jojo. Actress Octavia Spencer was also loving the performance, she left there red heart emojis.

“Princess Tiana for sure 👏😍 I can't,” wrote one follower. others tagged the animated giants, “@disney perfect actress/singer right here 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾,” they wrote. “@disney Please make this happen,” begged another follower.

“@disney @disneyplus pick ari Lennox if not just get Anika noni rose again to be in the live-action princess tiana movie.” As you can see many people are wholly invested in how the live-action version will play out.

While Disney hasn’t shared if a live-action version of Disney’s first black princess will make its way to the big screen, the demand is rich! The film came out in 2009, and while it was a huge hit for the conglomerate, they aren’t pushing a live-action version that we know of yet.

It could be in talks behind the scenes, and while that is happening, fans are left hoping that the animated musical gets the same treatment as some of the other animated films that live-action versions have been made of.

It’s a bit of a shame that this first Disney princess of color only came about in 2009 and since then, there hasn’t been another one. At the beginning of the month, One Take News tweeted that a live-action version was being discussed.

Some of the comments should be encouraging to Disney if they are on the fence at all. One follower was already casting the role, “I wonder if Tika Sumpter is playing Tiana,” they asked.

“I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but tbh I'm glad they actually use a diverse character instead of changing an already existing one, because they give her some needed attention to my girl Tiana,” pointed out another follower.

“OMG FINALLY, I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG!” called out another. Can you see Ari Lennox as your Princess Tiana? Or would you prefer some of the other names thrown in the ring like Sumpter and singer Normani?
