Kourtney Kardashian loves being a bride! As the first anniversary of her wedding to rockstar Travis Barker approaches, she walked down memory lane of the process of designing her lovely wedding dress.
Fans know that the socialite’s unconventional wedding dress, which took place in Portofino, Italy, was the talk of the town! As she celebrated the anniversary of the tongue-wagging dress, she revealed the inspiration behind the dress, while teasing another wedding.
Kourtney Kardashian Marks One-Year Wedding Dress Design Anniversary
It’s a big deal to walk down the aisle in a dream wedding dress, so the reality star was excited to have done so. In Kourtney’s celebration post, she featured snaps of several preparations for the dress.
The first snap captured the reality star looking breathtaking in the finished wedding dress. The following picture showed the design team of Dolce & Gabbana, who appeared to be making deliberations with several images of samples of the clothing, which was displayed on a table.
A third image unveiled Travis’s head tattoo of the Virgin Mary, and in a subsequent snap, that tattoo was etched on Kourtney’s long veil. In the post’s caption, the excited Mrs. Barker celebrated her dream dress while revealing its inspiration.
“One year ago, we had our first in-person meeting with @dolcegabbana to start the design process of my wedding dress!!”The Poosh founder shared.
She continued, “The first inspiration for my dress was when Travis, 47, and I were watching Guns N’ Roses November Rain video one night before we were even engaged, and we said to each other ‘this has to be our wedding.’ She was wearing a short dress and I thought to myself, ‘I need a short dress!'”
The 43-year-old added that having the wedding in Portofino also contributed to the vibes of the dress. Kourtney further highlighted that she wanted her wedding to look like a runaway wedding before adding that having Travis’ tattoo woven into her veil made it more special.
In her words, “When @dolcegabbana suggested putting Travis’s head tattoo of the Virgin Mary on the handmade lace veil with the words from his tattoo: family, loyalty, respect underneath, I got chills and knew how special that felt.”
Concluding her caption, the “KUWTK” star thanked everyone who worked to make her dream dress come true. However, the excitement didn’t stop there. The eldest daughter of the Kardashian clan seems to be full of wedding dress ideas. On her Instagram stories, she shared another wedding dress inspiration. The dress featured a slim bodice and ruffled details.
In the caption, the wellness enthusiast teased having another wedding, writing, “Need one more wedding so I can do this @jeanpaulgaultier,” Kourtney teased. While the Lemme founder has another wedding dress idea brewing, not many people liked her dream wedding dress.
As The Blast reported fans criticized the dresses the socialite wore, and even the custom-made Dolce and Gabbana dress wasn’t spared from eagle-eyed fans.
One observer commented, “That wedding veil/mini skirt combo is hilarious, and another asked, “Dear God, what is she wearing?” Another observer added, “Happy for her and all but oh God, not the dress sorry it’s so bad.”
Some compared her outfits for both weddings — the courthouse wedding and the destination wedding — to a “Halloween costume,” while others were focused on the embroidery of the Virgin Mary on her veil.
One fan demanded, “Beautiful yes, but why do that to Virgin Mary? why put her on black? I don’t get it 😔,” while another lashed out, writing, “I loved Kourtney until all this leather and lace and pictures of holy Mary and other religious stuff and black veils. What is she trying to do? She’s over 40 and has 3 children looking at her for direction.”
The “KUWTK” Alum And Her Husband Memorialize Their Wedding Date On The Wall Of Fame
Weeks before the mom of three celebrated her wedding dress anniversary, she and her beau memorialized their wedding date on the popular Wall of Fame. As we reported, the band drummer took to Instagram to share the memorable moment. The image he posted showed a wall full of small wooden chairs with golden plaques.
All the chairs had names engraved on them, and most noticeable was the one with “Travis & Kourtney.” Their chair also featured another plaque with their marriage date of 05.15.22, making them stand out.
Other celebrities’ names present on the Wall of Fame include actor Kevin Costner, guitarist Kenny Loggins, Brad Garret, and his wife Izzy, amongst others.
According to reports, the Wall of Fame is located in the Santa Barbara area of California, at the Italian restaurant Tre Lune, Montecito. Tre Lune is famous for its Italian meals like pasta, pizza, and antipasti. The particular wall was reportedly created as a way to celebrate loyal customers.
Speaking with The Santa Barbara Independent, the establishment’s manager, Leslee Garafalo, explained the significance of the chair decor. He said,
“We have close to 300 chairs on the wall for our customers who love eating here and who’ve been eating here for years. We like to thank our customers, and they get a kick out of it.”
