Liam Payne Wants To 'Make Amends' But Fans Are More Concerned About His DRASTIC New Face

English singer Liam Payne has expressed regret to Louis Tomlinson, a former One Direction bandmate, for having criticized him in the past.

The "Stack It Up" crooner took to Instagram to share the lengthy apology letter after attending the UK premiere of Tomlinson's new documentary, "All of those voices."

"Seeing the world through your eyes last night was the most beautiful thing to experience," Payne shared. "My neck hurts from how much I'm looking up to you right now. You were already my friend and brother, but getting to look through that window into your world and mind, I just extend that respect I have for you."

He continued, "I'm so sorry I was so out of my mind and I didn't do better for you, I feel ashamed in those moments to not be as good of a friend as you have been to me."

Payne concluded by saying that he had realized what had happened and that he wanted to atone for his mistake. Tomlinson's documentary is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 22.

The singer acknowledged that his One Direction bandmates played a crucial role in helping him succeed after going through a trying time in his life.

In a red carpet interview with On Demand Entertainment, Payne explained that he wouldn't be where he is without the help of his former One Direction friends, which include Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles.

"I'm feeling good, I'm so excited. I was trying to surprise Louis by coming in, but I didn't know how I was going to get in otherwise," he shared.

The singer added, "It was massively important for me to be here, and I'll be honest with you—all the boys have been there for me, and I've suffered a bit of a dark time in my life at the moment, and honestly, I wouldn't be here without the boys."

Fans on Twitter are perplexed by Payne's recent appearance on the red carpet of Tomlinson's movie premiere and wonder what may have happened to the singer's face.

He appeared on the red carpet wearing a white jacket with black accents and a pair of black pants. The singer was in the company of his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, 23, with whom he posed for pictures.
