Elizabeth Olsen revealed Scarlet Witch will return to the MCU after her death in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." Marvel dug deeper into her story with "WandaVision," before Scarlet Witch took a villainous turn in the "Doctor Strange" sequel.
Although the film concluded with her seemingly dying, Olsen previously confirmed the speculation that she would come back to life. The actress has now revealed when she will star again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, despite a history of Marvel actors being discreet about their roles.

Elizabeth Olsen Says Scarlet Witch Will Return To The MCU
The 34-year-old opened up to Deadline about her return to the MCU while recounting Scarlet Witch's dramatic exit toward the end of "Multiverse of Madness." Although Marvel stars have a habit of concealing details on their upcoming roles, Olsen gave in to the pressure to reveal whether her character would come back to life.

In response to the questions, she said, "I don't know even how to answer these questions," before revealing that Scarlet Witch "will be back." Olsen revealed she would feature in "Agatha: Coven of Chaos," the WandaVision sequel starring Kathryn Hahn as the supervillain Agatha. This would mean she survived the battle in the "Doctor Strange" sequel.
While she went down the path of evil in the film, her appearance in "Coven of Chaos" could mean two things. She would either seek the help of Agatha, who previously debuted in "WandaVision," to control her powers better or fight against the villain once more. It is uncertain what her role in the movie will be.
Agatha Harkness Debuted In The MCU With 'WandaVision'
Agatha first appeared in the 2021 sitcom about Scarlet Witch, also known as Wanda, and her husband, Vision. The character who is typically portrayed in Marvel Comics as a powerful witch was Wanda's friend and nosy neighbor in the fictional town of Westview.
She was later exposed as the villain of the miniseries in a plot twist. By the end of the show, Wanda succeeded in defeating Agatha and leaving her with no magical powers to hurt anyone again. This came before Wanda's role in "Multiverse of Madness" as the standout villain.
Her eventual realization that she was in the wrong led her to tear down the Wundagore Castle, seemingly sacrificing herself in the process. However, it was not confirmed whether Scarlet Witch was truly dead or not.
Elizabeth Olsen Previously Hinted At Her Return
The "Godzilla" actress previously hinted at a possible reappearance of her character in future MCU movies despite her demise in "Multiverse of Madness." In response to whether the "Doctor Strange" sequel could mark her film with them, she said, "No. I don't think of this either as the end."
Upon reflection on her deal with Marvel, she told Collider that she still had an active contract with the company. This revelation implies that Olsen still has unfinished business in the MCU. She explained at the time, "I sign extensions every time they want me to do a movie."
"I just signed a very short one at the beginning, so everything's constantly just, it's always adjusting for me." However, Olsen didn't reveal any changes to her character in future films. She wasn't sure "what capacity I'll be back," and refrained from saying any more, as she didn't "want spoilers."
Scarlet Witch Might Make Other Appearances
Now that Olsen confirmed that Wanda would be back in the Marvel Universe, Scarlet Witch may join the Avengers in another fight against the forces of evil despite uncertainties about her future in the MCU. The redhead hero could join the Avengers in the upcoming film "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" to fight against supervillain Kang The Conqueror.
However, Scarlet Witch's only certain cameo in an upcoming MCU project is her next appearance in "Coven of Chaos" alongside Hahn. While Disney+ is yet to announce an official premiere date for the show, it is estimated to hit screens towards the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.
