Trey Songz has been trending on social media over the past month for some very interesting reasons outside of music. Today though, he took to his Instagram feed to reveal that his uncle had sadly passed away last week. 

The rapper said his uncle's death was sudden and that no warning signs were given ahead of his passing. Trey added that God simply called his uncle home last week. Based on the passion in his IG caption, fans could feel the emotions that Trey was feeling.

Trey Songz Tells Fans To Cherish Their Loved Ones

In Trey's post, he also added that people need to tell their loved ones how much they love them. This is due to people not knowing when their time will be up.

"God called my uncle home last week. No warning signs, just suddenly was his time. Been struggling with how to deal with the emotions. Wish I coulda talked to him one more time but that’s not how life works. Tell ya people you love em cause you never know when your last time seeing them will be. Unc give Grandpa a kiss for me and hold me a spot next to y’all."

Trey Songz's Alleged Sex Tape Was Leaked

Over a week ago, Trey dominated social media as he was the discussion again. This was due to his alleged sex tape with a woman leaking. The R&B star didn't confirm or deny that it was him, though. Trey did take advantage of the buzz though as he took to Instagram to promote his Only Fans account. This profile was originally created back in November as a way of celebrating his birthday. Needless to say, his female fans enjoyed the leaked tape along with the OF page.

Trey Songz Also Got Into Fight With Police Officer At AFC Championship Game

In late January, Trey was the topic of discussion on social media then as well. This was due to him getting into a fight with a police officer at the AFC Championship game in Kansas City. This was between the Buffalo Bills and hometown Chiefs. 

TMZ reported that the officer was originally called due to him not wearing a mask but was supposedly wearing it earlier. The outlet also reported that Trey threw the first punch. He ended up being charged with misdemeanor trespassing and resisting arrest. Trey was also hit with a low-grade felony for assaulting a police officer.

Trey Has Been Putting Out Solid Music Lately

Last fall, Trey also gave fans a new project with his eighth studio album, "Back Home." This project was led by the singles "Back Home" featuring Summer Walker, "Two Ways," "Circles," and "2020 Riots: How Many More." 

The album contained 22 tracks in total with other appearances from Swae Lee, Davido, and Ty Dolla $ign. Back Home ended up debuting at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 9 on the Billboard US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
