Gabrielle Union is oozing Black excellence!
Although Union has always turned heads with her fantastic fashion sense, she seemed determined to take the best-dressed crown at the just concluded Oscars party with her chosen outfit. The actress turned up in an elegant designer black dress that got party guests, media outlets, and her fans gushing over her.
Gabrielle Union Shines In Shiny Designer Dress For The Oscars Party
When she turned up at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday night, Union dazzled in a black figure-hugging Ralph Lauren dress. The black floor-length number featured a plunging neckline that brought attention to her ample bosom, with long sleeves and seemingly padded shoulders.
The 50-year-old's outfit also included sparkling embellishments, which paired perfectly with her dangling Reza diamond earrings and a matching emerald-cut diamond ring. For glam, the "Being Mary Jane" lead opted for a nude lip and colorful eyeshadow, with her hair pulled back.
The "10 Things I Hate About You" star showcased her fashion choice in an Instagram post that featured two images and a video. While the first slide was a standalone photo of her posing in a hallway with a fierce look, the next showed her standing next to her date for the night — her husband, Dwyane Wade.
The former pro basketball player looked dapper in his matching black two-piece suit with velvet lapels. As for the clip, Union gave a full view of her backside by strutting down the hall for a few seconds before turning to the camera with a megawatt smile.
For the caption, the mother-of-one wrote, "Black on Black, that's what I call excellence." As expected, the post caught the eye of thousands, accruing over 40k likes in just eight hours.
"Yesssss you looking like royalty in that dress," this fan gushed in the comments, as another chimed, "Gabrielle, Jah know, yuh nuh haffi look so good!" A third netizen added, "Sparkle Black dresses never disappoint," while many others dropped multiple fire, heart, and heart eyes emojis.
Union had evoked the same reaction when she shared five images that showed her another all-black fit last September. As reported by The Blast, the Love & Blessings founder effortlessly wore the dress, which came with a lace skirt and silver rhinestones embellishments.
The Flawless hairline boss accessorized with diamond studs, matching rings, and black knee-high boots, with her dark hair styled into a jumbo braid that ran from part of her head to the other.
She began the slides by crossing her legs while sitting on some stairs before posing for an up-close look at her glammed-up face and outfit. Union also gave a view of the dress's nearly backless rear and wrapped up with an upright pose of the entire costume.
Even though she hid the likes the post received from her well-wishers, the comments amounted to over 500, with many admitting they loved the "vibe" the dress gave.
The BET Awards Winner & Her NBA Beau Show Support For Their Daughter Zaya At Her Runway Debut
While Dwyane is most notable for his basketball skills, the three-time NBA champion is also a dedicated dad to five kids — his nephew Dahveon Morris, Zaire, and Zaya, whom he shares with his ex-wife Siovaughn Funches, Xavier with his longtime friend Aja Metoyer, and Kaavia with the "Two Can Play That Game" star.
The bond shared by the blended family has often made headlines, especially regarding Union and Dwayne's parenting style of "leading with love." Per The Blast, the lovebirds reminded observers of that style when they showed up for Zaya's runway debut during the Paris Fashion Week last Tuesday.
The transgender teen is seen stealing the show in her olive green ensemble on the Miu Miu catwalk in a video shared jointly by her parents. She paired the costume with a matching jacket, a brown purse, and matching low heels, with her box braids styled into a low bun.
The clip finished with her proud parents hugging and posing with her for pictures as they shone in matching all-black outfits, including dark sunglasses. The heartwarming event comes just weeks after Zaya legally changed her name — formerly Zion — and gender after coming out as transgender at age 12.
