Britney Spears’ cousin Ali Sims says she hasn’t talked to her in over a decade because the singer’s father Jamie Spears threatened her.

NBC News spoke to Ali, who worked as Brit’s assistant in 2008, days after the bombshell New York Times documentary “Framing Britney Spears” was released.

In 2008, for a period of several months, Alli was photographed out and about with Britney constantly. At the time, the “Toxic” singer was in the middle of a nasty custody battle with her ex, Kevin Federline, and in the middle of her public breakdown.

Alli left her job as a party planner to go work for Britney and help her cousin during the chaotic time. Many fans criticized Alli at the time believing she was using Britney for fame.

During her interview, Alli says she was forced to abruptly cut off contact with Britney after her dad Jamie filed to become his daughter’s conservator in court. Alli claims Jamie called her after filing his court case and demanded she cease working for Britney.

Alli says Jamie threatened something would happen to her if she did not cut off communication with the pop star.

She said, “He 100 percent was threatening me with my life. I didn’t put it past him, so I didn’t answer" her calls ever again.

In regard to the documentary, Alli told the reporter, “How do you watch that documentary and be in it and live in that and not say anything when it has gone on for so long?”

As The Blast previously reported, Britney is fighting her father Jamie over control of her life. The singer is making moves to have her dad removed as the co-conservator of her estate. Brit is currently refusing to work until the court takes action.

Earlier this week, Justin Timberlakereleased an "apology" to his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears and Janet Jackson. The singer was catching heat after the documentary premiered and portrayed him in a bad light.

The former NYSNC singer wrote, "I've seen the messages, tags, comments, and concerns and I want to respond. I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right."

Justin said, "I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually because I care for and respect these women and I know I have failed."
