Amy Robach Confided In T.J. Holmes About Marital Troubles With Andrew Shue Before Their Affair Began

Before their affair started, T.J. Holmes was allegedly Amy Robach's confidante about her marital troubles with Andrew Shue. Their romance was made public in November 2022, while Robach and Holmes were still married to their partners.

Shortly after the scandal, ABC network suspended and eventually fired the couple from their co-host positions on "Good Morning America." Marilee Fiebig, Holmes' ex-wife, and Shue didn't take the affair well, especially with how messy and public it's been.

Robach and Holmes' friends think the couple will get engaged soon because they "have a strong bond." The lovebirds have reportedly spoken extensively about their future together but aren't rushing anything.

A source revealed to Us Weekly that T.J. Holmes was previously Amy Robach's confidante on her marital issues with Andrew Shue. They noted that the former co-anchors were "very close" and said, "When Amy was having issues with Andrew around 2020 to 2022, she was confiding in T.J."

Robach and Shue were having issues at the time, and according to the source, "Andrew wasn't supporting" his wife at all. They shared an instance of when Robach started a four-marathon challenge in 2022, which Shue failed to show any interest in. However, Holmes was there for Robach and supported her through it.

The insider shared that Robach and Holmes' joint experience during that time, with Shue showing no interest in her activities, "made their bond stronger," eventually leading to the affair. They noted that when Holmes is with Robach, he's "always in awe" of her, and it's evident to everyone.

Holmes and Robach's affair came to the limelight in November 2022 after photos of them being very affectionate with each other surfaced online via a report by Daily Mail. At the time, the former "GMA3" co-hosts were still married to their partners.

ABC temporarily replaced Holmes and Robach on their morning show when the affair erupted into a social media scandal. However, by January 2023, the network confirmed that the couple had been dismissed from their positions.

The same month the affair broke, Holmes confirmed he'd filed for divorce from Marilee Fiebig, whom he'd been married to for 12 years. The former couple had one daughter, Sabine, but Holmes already had two kids, Brianna and Jaiden, with another ex-wife Amy Ferson.

Much like her lover Holmes, Robach is also in the process of divorcing her estranged husband, Shue. The couple has been married since 2010, and Robach is stepmother to his three sons. She also had two daughters, Analise and Ava, with ex-husband Tim McIntosh.

In February, a source told Us Weekly that Shue is taking Robach's new relationship "hard because the whole thing has been so messy." Similarly, Fiebig is also upset by the news and "continues to be disappointed by [T.J.'s] lack of discretion and respect for her and their marriage."

Another source shared with the news outlet that Fiebig is upset with how public Holmes and Robach have been since the affair went public. They said, "She feels disrespected because [T.J. and Amy] are all over each other in photos and she's hurt because she sees it's the real deal and knows now he's not going to reconcile with her."

According to Us Weekly, Holmes and Robach's future might soon involve an engagement ring as the couple's relationship continues to wax strong. A source for the publication said, "Friends feel they will get engaged soon because they were friends a long time before they became lovers. They have a strong bond."

The insider revealed that Holmes and Robach have extensively "talked about" their future together. They've reportedly discussed the possibility of "moving in together and getting engaged." However, the former colleagues aren't in a hurry concerning their relationship and still need to sort out their divorces.

In the meantime, Robach and Holmes are planning to make a big comeback to tv. The duo has reportedly pitched an idea for what would be a joint endeavor to media giants like CBS and NBC.
