In a recent interview, actress Courteney Cox opened up about her experience with fillers and the distorted view she had of her own face before deciding to have them removed.

The "Friends" star explained how easy it is to fall into a cycle of continuously getting more fillers, not realizing that the changes are making you look slightly off. According to Cox, it's a domino effect that can happen when you become accustomed to seeing yourself with fillers.

Courteney Cox got honest about her biggest beauty mistakes and her personal journey with facial fillers in a newly released episode of the Gloss Angeles podcast. The "Friends" alum opened up to hosts Kirbie Johnson and Sara Tan Christensen about her experiences with aging and the cosmetic work she had done when she was younger.

The star of the upcoming film "Scream VI" expressed her past frustration at feeling the pressure to use fillers when she was still young, saying that it was a "bummer" and a "waste of time." She admitted the dangerous cycle of continuing to use fillers, as it becomes difficult to recognize when one has gone too far, stating, "it's a domino effect; it's like you don't realize that you look a little off, so then you keep doing more cause you look normal to yourself."

A clip of Cox's interview is available on the podcast's Instagram page and was met with positive words from fans. They praised the veteran actress for sharing her experience with fillers and for having the courage to speak out on the topic. They also made sure to comment on how beautifully Cox has aged ever since.

She went on to say, per People, "You look in the mirror and go, 'Oh, that looks good,' you think, and you don't realize what it looks like to the outside person and just doing too many fillers and having to have them removed, which thank god they are removable, I think I messed up a lot and now luckily I can, I was able to reverse most of that, now I'm actually just older."

Additionally, she disclosed her beauty choices, revealing that she now regrets using fillers excessively. Looking back at old photographs of herself, the seasoned actress finds it hard to believe how different she looked then. "I look at pictures of me from when I thought I looked okay, and I can't believe it," she added.

Other than fillers, Cox also disclosed her beauty routine, her favorite skincare products, how she micro blades her eyebrows, how she and her daughter inspire each other's pampering routines, and her love for her friend Jennifer Anniston's brand LolaVie's leave-in conditioner.

Courteney Cox 'Was Trying To Keep Up With Getting Older'

The 58-year-old actress first talked about her plastic surgery regrets during a 2016 interview on an episode of NBC's Running Wild. Speaking candidly to host Bear Grylls, she said, per Glamour, "I think there's a pressure to maintain [your looks] not just because of fame, but just being a woman in this business." Cox added, "Getting older, I don't think that's the easiest thing. But I have learned lessons. I think I was trying to keep up with getting older and trying to chase that. It's something you can't keep up with."

She admitted to striving for certain appearances and, as a result, made regrettable decisions only to realize later that it didn't turn out well. Cox also shared her disappointment when she saw pictures of herself that didn't reflect the look she was aiming for.

Fortunately for Cox, some of the work she had done on her face could be reversed, and she eventually underwent a procedure to dissolve all of her facial fillers in 2017. As she approaches her sixties, Cox is aging gracefully, pampering herself and embracing a new outlook on growing older.
