TikTokerElyse Myers recently announced her second pregnancy in an epic way. But despite how impressive her announcement was, it didn't reach as many people as she would have liked, and many found out she was pregnant from a later video. To help explain what she feels went wrong, she created a new video with tips for announcing a pregnancy online.
Elyse Myers Shares Hilarious Video With Tips For Announcing A Pregnancy Online
"Hello. My name is Elyse, and I'm here to tell you three ways to announce your pregnancy online if you really want it to get seen the first time," she began her video. "Qualifications: I recently announced my pregnancy online and it did not go the way I expected it to."
Her first tip was to not use "The Office" as a theme. "It's too niche. People won't understand that it's an announcement and they'll think that it's a really weird ad for a show that stopped airing 10 years ago," she said as she showed a Power Point presentation on her laptop.
She then showed a clip from her original pregnancy announcement video. "Number 2: Keep it short, under 10 seconds, or else people will miss it and you will spend the next nine months announcing that you're pregnant every single time you make a post."
The content creator also suggests not waiting too long into the video to announce the big news, saying to announce it in the first 0.2 seconds. "Moving on to number 3: The algorithm will decide for you," she continued. She then showed the video that TikTok decided was her pregnancy announcement.

"OK, what did we learn here? Cereal works. Eat cereal out of a mixing bowl. That seems to be effective," she siad. "Number 2: Announce it as if you already announced it, because you probably have. Number 3: The algorithm is unknowable and it's pointless to try. Thank you."
Myers might seriously be onto something here. Her original pregnancy announcement video received 3.1 million views. The cereal video got 12 million views. The new video talking about how to announce a pregnancy got 4.8 million views.
Elyse Myers Followers Left Comments About Her Advice
More than 13,000 followers hopped into the comment section of the new video of tips to announce a pregnancy.
One person wanted to know the comparison of time spent between "The Office" style pregnancy announcement video versus the cereal video. "I need to know the cumulative hours spent on concept, filming, and editing of office video vs your ten second cereal short," to which Myers answered, "I spent about 6 hours getting all the supplies together and making all the fake flyers and memos by hand, then 2 hours filming, 3 hours editing, then another 3 hours on the animation at the end. For the cereal video, a cumulative 7 seconds. 😂"
One follower, who the algorithm messed with, said, "I definitely thought the cereal one was your announcement 😂." Myers responded, "Most people did 😂 this app was like 'jokes on you, this is the announcement now' hahaha."
Another follower suggested, "This sums up TikTok SO perfectly that it should be an advertisement 😅 .... congrats, again."
