Alex Murdaugh is being held in a single cell on his own out of fear that he will be attackedand possibly murdered for being a murderer.

Murdaugh is being held in the most secure part of a South Carolina prison because. The fear that other inmates might want to murder him specifically for the fame that has come along with his case.

Inmates apparently are wanting to take him down because of his notoriety. He is currently serving two consecutive life sentences for murdering his wife Maggie and his son Paul who was only 22 at the time.

Murdaugh is currently doing time at behind bars at Kirkland Correctional Institution in Columbia, SC. The South Carolina Department of Corrections spoke with TMZ where they admitted that the fame from the case has put Murdaugh at risk of attack.

So currently, yes, he is being kept away from the general public for the most part.

The cell is described as made of concrete. It features the plush amenities of a steel bed, toilet, and sink everything anyone could need. Unfortunately for Murdaugh, he is used to a little more luxury than that.

The disgraced lawyer went form living on an estate and owning the biggest law firm in his town, driving luxury, cars and literally getting away with scams and murders and allegedly helping his children, deceased Paul and Buster Murdaugh get away with crimes that also supposedly include murder.

He is now in a small room for the rest of his life and isn’t even allowed to eat with gen pop, his meals are brought to his cell where he eats alone. Fortunately for Murdaugh, he is only at Kirkland for 45 days while his permanent assignment is being decided.

Where the former lawyer will be moved to is yet to be decided but it's expected that wherever he goes, he will be allowed to interact with the general population that includes having his meals in the cafeteria, and outdoor time for a game of pickup basketball if he likes.

If a threat is made against Murdaugh, he will be put in lockdown in his new assignment. Currently, Murdaugh has an escort when he leaves his cell but TMZ found out that he may have more fun in his cell than out of it. Murdaugh can have a TV in his cell and make phone calls to friends and family as long as he has the coins to fund it, he likely has his brother and maybe his surviving son helping him out.

Meanwhile on the outside, Buster, 26 was forced to file a police report with the local authorities when a photo of himself in his home appeared in the New York Post. It was allegedly taken through the blinds meaning someone was on his property.

Buster and his girlfriend also claimed they are being followed by someone from “the media” in a gray Chevrolet SUV and later saw that same car on their Ring doorbell camera.
