Anna Wintour Cracking Down On Met Gala List, Reality TV Stars Not Welcomed

Anna Wintour is allegedly cracking down on all the reality star appearances at the Met Gala. Some big names are not invited.
Anna Wintour Needs A Change
The Vogue editor is looking to mix up the faces we see walking the infamous Met Gala carpet. Sources tell Page Six that the guestlist is going back to being tight and exclusive and well, the Kardashians may not make the cut this year.
Let’s be honest, they lucked out by making the cut in the past. Normally, the guestlist for the Met Gala has been something reserved for people of notoriety in the fashion world and as a courtesy their muses.
Kim Kardashian made the cut initially because of her close proximity to Kanye West, his overhaul of her wardrobe and him being a legitimate celebrity. Vogue didn’t comment on this entire situation, but it sounds plausible.
Met Gala Invites Haven’t Gone Out Yet
Regardless of the rumor, hopeful attendees don’t have an invite yet because none have gone out. No one is confirming or denying if they have been invited yet. There is still time seeing as the event always takes place on the first Monday of May.
This year that falls on May 1st. Back in September 2022, the theme was announced by Pharrell Williams a Chanel ambassador that the gala would honor Karl Lagerfeld who was the creative director of Chanel.
Vogue magazine tweeted about the announcement. “Today at the official announcement of “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” as the @metmuseum's Spring 2023 Costume Institute Exhibition, Pharrell Williams shared remarks about the late Karl Lagerfeld and the legacy he left behind.”
They also shared a clip of Pharrell’s impassioned announcement of the theme.

Kim Kardashian Was The First One
Kim first attended the gala in 2013 while she was pregnant with North. Since then, she has been a regular with and without her now ex-husband, West. Kim tweeted about her Met Gala experience in 2019.
“I didn’t know anyone [and] I’m sure no one wanted me there.” She also vulnerably shared that after the event, “I went home [and] cried after of insecurity.” Kim continued to go a handful of times and finally, last year, more of her family was invited.
Kylie Jenner, Kendell Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, and Kris Jenner all attend with Kim last year and posed for a family photo on the carpet. Corey Gamble was there too as Kris’s date.
Fans Are Sick Of The Influencers
Last year may have been one of the biggest years for influencers attending the coveted gala. In addition to the Kardashian and Jenner family, Addison Rae was there for some reason, this was her second time actually.
Joining her were other influencers like Jackie Aina, NikkieTutorials, Emma Chamberlain, Avani Gregg, Chiara Ferragni, and her man. Truly, the vibe was weird.
Seeing as this news is out there now, it will be interesting to see who makes the cut this year and if it’s even possible to leave the Kardashians off the list when it’s essentially expected they are everywhere now.
