Selena Gomez is taking some time to reflect!
The 30-year-old singer and "Only Murders In The Building" actress has returned to social media following a brief hiatus. Gomez faced countless headlines earlier this month related to both Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner's social media activity.
A few weeks later, the Rare Beauty CEO is back on Instagram, and she is taking a second to look back as she moves forward from the onslaught of headlines linking her with her ex-boyfriend's now wife and her friend.
Gomez posted a throwback picture on Wednesday afternoon and had a plea for her younger self as she commemorated International Women's Day. Gomez opened up a conversation on healing and self-worth as she asked her younger self to reach out beyond depending only on herself.
Gomez Has Been A Long Time Advocate For Seeking Mental Health Treatment
Gomez has been quite transparent when it comes to publicly discussing her mental health.
The "Lose You To Love Me" singer brought her fans closer to her inner world with the release of her Apple TV+ documentary "My Mind & Me" released last year. She was quite candid in the documentary's trailer on the toll that her faltering mental health has taken on her in the past.
In the trailer for the documentary, Gomez admits she is "grateful to be alive," and is also seen giving herself a pep talk where she encourages herself to move forward.
"Just be who you are, Selena, no one cares what you're doing," she tells her reflection. "It's about who I am."
"My Mind & Me" explores Gomez's experience following multiple diagnoses. She candidly discusses how her life has been shaped as a result of dealing with her bipolar disorder diagnosis, Lupus, depression, self-image, and so much more.
She has also struggled notably with the effects of social media on her life; Gomez revealed in a 2021 interview that she leaves social media management up to an assistant; she also was candid in admitting she "gets nothing out of" using social media, and has felt overwhelmed by the amount of information that can be found on platforms.

Gomez returned to social media last week, sharing behind-the-scenes snapshots from work, makeup tutorials, and celebrated a friend's upcoming nuptials.
Her latest Instagram post was a bit more somber in tone; Gomez posted a photo of her younger self and penned a note to her.
Gomez wrote, "Dear younger me, please don't be afraid to ask for help," adding, "Today is International Women's Day and I want each of us to be gentler to ourselves. Write yourself a @RareBeauty #rarereminder and stick it on your mirror to remind yourself that you deserve the world. Love you," she concluded.
Fellow actress and mental health advocate Christy Carlson Romano also left little SelGo some love.
"Sweet girl, you will move mountains," the "Even Stevens" alumna commented.
"Twilight" actor and host of "The Squeeze" podcast, Taylor Lautner, commented two heart emojis for his pal.
The mood in the comment section of Gomez's post wasn't all about encouragement; some followers incorporated references to Hailey Bieber into their commentary.
"let's see if hailey copies this," one follower wrote.
"Waiting for Hailey to post a baby pic," another commented.
"Honestly you should tell your fans to stop hating!," a follower implored Gomez. "It's ridiculous and embarrassing. Like literally bullying women on women's national day IS NOT COOL! If you don't like bullying you should tell your fans to stop because what they're doing [is] hurtful to SO many. Happy women's day I guess..."
"I hope that Hailey can heal from the f***ed up s**t your fans have done to her," another follower commented. "It's horrific, but you love it."
"how about telling your fans to stop bullying Hailey and jb's little sisters," another follower told Gomez.
Justin Bieber inspired social media conversation after his birthday celebration this past weekend; The "One Less Lonely Girl" singer allegedly gave out a party favor containing a message thought to be a reference to his on-and-off relationship with Gomez. The duo started dating in 2010.
The "souvenir" contained a message that read "I'm so thankful I didn't end up with what I thought I wanted." Although the party favor's inscription didn't specifically reference a person, Twitter users thought it was related to Gomez.
