Shauna Rae's Love Interest Dan Responds To Being Called Her 'Ex-Boyfriend'

Just a month after issuing a response on social media about people's negative opinions about his friendship with "I Am Shauna Rae" star Shauna Rae, Dan Swygart is once again speaking up.

Swygart recently saw a report where he was being called Shauna Rae's "ex-boyfriend" and took to social media to once again set the record straight.

Swygart, 27, shared a screenshot of the report he saw calling him Shauna Rae's "ex-boyfriend" on his Instagram Story. He wrote his response to the report alongside the photo.

"Literally every single time I go on Facebook or YouTube all I see are videos about me and Shauna," he wrote. "Again, me and Shauna are still good friends getting to know each other."

In January, Swygart shared his response to people saying hateful things about his relationship with 23-year-old Shauna Rae, because she stopped growing early in childhood due to pituitary dwarfism. Many can't look past the fact that her appearance is that of an 8-year-old child.

"Hey guys, just want to say thank you so much for all the support and kind message. I really appreciate it. Me and Shauna are still just good friends getting to know each other, but I think it’s absolutely disgusting the attitude of some people," he began his response.

"She’s been through so much in life. She survived cancer as a child. She’s always been felt different and treated differently by society. But how dare you take away her right, her human right to have a connection, a friendship, a relationship with someone else. Who are you to say she that can’t have that? I’m absolutely disgusted by some people’s attitudes towards her and my friendship with her.”

While some people had negative things to say about their relationship, many had positive take aways to share in the comments of the Instagram video.

"To be stuck in a body that you can’t change. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. At the end of the day she is 23 year old young lady and deserves to be treated like her age. That includes finding love," one fan wrote. Another added, "The girl is TWENTY THREE NOT THREE!!! What do you negative people expect her to do? Date an 8 yr old because she looks like one? Geeezus Love and support from CA."

Many people even thanked Swygart for not discriminating and for supporting Shauna Rae. "As an individual who has lived their entire life with a disability and also recently became a cancer survivor, I just wanted to say thank you. The world could use more people like you, Dan. You and Shauna should both keep shining your light," one follower explained.

Swygart's response also hit home to one follower who could totally relate to Shauna Rae's life. "I’ve never seen the show, but came across this on social media. As a person who is 4’8”, I am constantly getting judged and seen as a child, so I fully relate to this. Dating and friendship can be difficult for petite humans. Thank you for supporting Shauna in such a way. It’s inspiring! ✨"

Since season two of the reality show has ended, there hasn't been any word on if there will be a third season. And neither Swygart or Shauna Rae have posted about each other on social media since December when they shared photos from their kayak and paddleboarding date that aired on the show.

Shauna Rae also posted a video of things that Swygart sent to her and her family from England in late December on Instagram.

"Dan is a great guy!!!! I hope him and Shauna stay together! I think it’s a great match," one follower wrote in the comments of the video. "Omg I just adore Dan and you together. The way he is with you is just such a beautiful and pure thing," said another.
