Matthew Lawrence Gushes About 'Special' Romance With TLC Star Chilli, Shares Future Plans

Actor Matthew Lawrence is sharing all the details about his romance with his new girlfriend, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas.

The pair, who went Instagram official in January, have been dating for months following Lawrence's finalization of his divorce from ex-wife Cheryl Burke.

In a recent interview, "The Boy Meets World" star revealed that he and Thomas have plans to expand their family.

He also lauded his partner, calling her an "amazing woman" and "really special." The actor mentioned that he and the TLC star have "similar upbringings," which has helped strengthen their connection.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on Friday, Lawrence opened up about his relationship with Thomas, describing her as an "amazing woman" and "really special."

The duo started dating in November 2022 but announced their relationship two months later in an Instagram post.

Now, Lawrence has made it clear that he and the TLC singer are taking their relationship very seriously and plan to expand their family.

"That's the game plan. That's what we're trying to do," the 42-year-old actor said when asked if he and Thomas were considering having kids.

He added, "My life is in complete bloom right now. I get to spend time with an amazing woman like Chilli. I've never gotten to be able to experience that kind of relationship before. She's really, really special."

The actor heaped more praise on his boo, saying he "wished more people on the planet were like her."

In his interview, he also shared some of the qualities that keep him hooked on their blossoming relationship.

"She's just got, you know, her morals and her values," Lawrence said of Thomas. "The way she treats her family. She loves my family, so important."

More importantly, he noted that they both have a lot of chemistry, which has helped them navigate different situations during their time together.

He continued, "We get along. We'll talk on the phone and she's like, 'My mom's calling me.' I'm like, 'Go get it. I know how important that is.' Same thing like my mom calls me. It's not like, 'Why are you talking to your mom?!' It's like, 'Oh, your mom. Go talk to your mom,' you know?"

Lawrence also mentioned that their "similar upbringings" played a major part in helping them bond better.

Unsurprisingly, Lawrence and Thomas's connection has even excited their friends. In a statement to People last month, Thomas' longtime rep Christal Jordan shared that Lawrence's presence in her client's life has given her a health glow unlike before.

She said, "I've been with Chilli since 2005, and I've never seen her this in love. She is glowing. They are really cute together,"

At the time, Jordan also confirmed that the pair spent the holidays together, including Thanksgiving and Christmas, and that the actor had met Thomas' family.

In his interview with ET, Lawrence also mentioned meeting the TLC singer's family, including her son Tron, whom she shares with her ex, Dallas Austin. He also revealed that Thomas has also been in touch with his family.

The actor was married to "Dancing With the Stars" pro Cheryl Burke for three years before the dancer filed for divorce in February 2022 at a Los Angeles courthouse.

Their divorce documents listed that they had separated a month before the filing, although the separation was finalized in September 2022.

"I know I have always said I'm an open book with you guys, I do strive to be, and in writing this, I've realized there really isn't an easy way to announce that my marriage is ending," Burke announced to her fans after filing for divorce, per US Weekly.

She added, "I hope you can understand that I will not be commenting any further at this time and am asking for understanding and privacy. Thank you all for all the kind words and support you've given me."
