In an interview with Wallpaper magazine, the Academy Award-winning artist expressed interest in leading a more solitary life. I'm interested in living more of a life of solitude," she said. Gaga described how liberating it is to have the time to be alone, allowing herself to expand and recognize her self-worth.

While reflecting on her younger years, the singer-songwriter shared that despite spending a lot of time alone writing music, as she became more successful, she started seeking validation from others, leading her away from her original intention of creating music solely for the love of the craft.

However, she emphasized that her intention has always been with the music rather than the rewards that come with it. She also shared her inspiration and credited a book titled Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke for inspiring her at 14. The book left such a deep impression that she tattooed a quote from it on her arm.

The "Born This Way" hitmaker shared a transformative experience while in Osaka at 23. She was pondering her purpose in life in the deepest hour of the night, and suddenly, a question popped into her mind, "would you die if you were forbidden to write?" This question prompted her to search deep within herself until she finally arrived at an answer, "Muss ich schreiben? [Must I write?]'"

For her, writing is not just a means to success, and even if she hadn't achieved the level of success she currently enjoys, she would still be writing, driven by an unquenchable desire to express herself through words.

"If I wasn't successful in the way I am today — I'm very grateful for my success — I'd still be doing it, I'd be on the Lower East Side. I would do it no matter what. 100%," she said per Page Six.

As she gave a glimpse into her private life, the pop icon shared that despite what many people assume, her life is not dominated by Hollywood.

"I know that because I don't spend much time in Hollywood. I might look like I do because sometimes award season happens, and you see me on red carpets. But I'm very much at home working. That's the thing that makes me happy," she noted.
