Shakira and Gerard Piqué’s breakup is getting more toxic by the minute.

Despite splitting last year, it’s being reported that their relationship as co-parents is still very bad.

The singer and ex-fútbol player announced their breakup in June 2022 after spending nearly 12 years together.

They share two children together, Milan and Sasha.

After the breakup, the couple entered into a very contentious custody battle, but came to an agreement that Shakira can move her sons to Miami, FL.

However, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer has been stuck in Barcelona due to her father’s ailing health.

According to journalist Sandra Aladro on “El programa de Ana Rosa,” Piqué’s family wants her to leave sooner rather than later.

The toxicity between the ex-lovers is growing out of control, which in turn is proving to be detrimental to their little ones.

"They have made up their minds, it is clear to them that this is going to happen and they have the capacity to travel to Miami to see the children," Aladro explained. "The tension is such that they believe that the best remedy is that the sooner the move occurs the better for everyone... now the children are in a very bad situation.”

Shakira’s move to the US is imminent, and she plans to arrive in the US in April.

El Periodico reports, "The singer plans to move to the American city on April 1 to take advantage of the school holidays that American students have during those weeks.”

Shakira has taken several jabs at Piqué and his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, in her most recent songs.

Also, Shakira recently sat down with Mexican journalist Enrique Acevedo with news station Canal de las Estrellas.

Shakira admitted she has learned A LOT since breaking up with her partner of nearly 12 years.

Since the split, she’s realized she can be entirely “self-sufficient” after buying “into the story that a woman needed a man to be complete. I’ve always been emotionally quite dependent on men I’ve fallen in love with, and I think I’ve been able to understand that story from another perspective, and today I am sufficient on my own.”

Shakira Says There's A Place In Hell For Women Like Clara Chia Marti

Shakira continued, “There is a place in hell reserved for women who don’t support other women.”

You may recall that the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer found out Piqué was cheating (allegedly with Marti) on her from an opened jar of jam.

According to ShowNews Today, the Colombian-native had returned home from a trip with their children when she found a jar of strawberry jam in their fridge.

Seems harmless if the entire family like strawberry jam, BUT nobody in Shakira’s home likes that kind of jam.

She instantly knew that her children and Piqué do not eat strawberry jam, and so her suspicions that someone had been staying at their home while she was gone grew immensely.

What’s more, the jam had been eaten.

Shakira alluded to the incriminating evidence in her music video for “Te Felicito” featuring Rauw Alejandro.

Despite the deceit, mistrust and lies, Shakira told Acevedo that she’s “come out stronger” after facing “life’s battles.”

“When a woman has to face life’s battles, she comes out stronger,” Shakira noted.

Shakira’s focus is solely on her two children and becoming a “lioness” for them.

“That strength comes out of experiencing a painful loss, of accepting it, of tolerating a frustration, of understanding that life doesn’t always bring us what we want,” she explained. “There are dreams that are broken, and you have to pick up the little pieces from the ground and put yourself together again and also be an example to my children.”
