Co-stars are reportedly happy that Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has left the series. She apparently wasn’t well-liked.
Ellen Pompeo Spent 14 Seasons On ‘Grey’s Anatomy’
The actress’s exit apparently comes with praise from some of her co-stars who believed she was a bit of an annoyance on set. After 14 seasons it’s easy to see how one could get a little cocky on set, especially as the title character.
However, some believe that it was a bit too much and are happy to see her go:
“She has a colossal ego and was constantly throwing her weight around when it came to other people’s performances and storylines…Some people called her a tyrant and they’re glad they won’t be seeing her around anymore,” claims a source to Radar Online.
The Emmy winner was supposedly doing the most and some of her cast are happy they no longer have to deal with her. “She became overbearing…That rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, from the production assistants all the way up to her co-stars. Truthfully, no one will miss her.”
Ellen Pompeo Is Off To College
Pompeo announced last August that she would be making her exit from the show and likened it to heading off to college:
“The show has been incredible to me and I’ve loved a lot of the experience. Listen, it’s just, I gotta mix it up a little bit…I gotta do something new…I mean, 19 years, that’s more than people keep their kids in their house like people keep their kids in their house until they’re 18 and then they send them off to college. So this is like me like going away to college…”
This wasn’t an easy decision for Pompeo to make, she was reportedly raking in over half a million dollars per episode. At the time, that made her the highest-paid actress on TV.
Despite this, Pompeo decided to hit the road and reportedly said, the role felt outdated to her now and she is seeking out a more challenging role.
Fans Happy To See Ellen Pompeo Split
By a gander at the comments, it looks like some fans are in agreeance that it was time for her to go but not for reasons that you may think. “She lost my respect when she talked crap about Denzel Washington.”
“😂😂😂😂 It’s Time For The SHOW to retire as well….but it’s no one will miss her for meeeeee 😂😂😂,” joked one follower of the news.
“It’s BEEN known for at least 3 years now that she’s not easy to work with. Not a shock cast and crew are ready to be done with her,” claims another.
“Good luck getting jobs with the rep of being notoriously difficult. Be kind damn,” wrote a fan of the popular medical drama.
There is certainly an air that not many people are going to miss Pompeo on set or on their TV screens. Pompeo may get a chance to redeem her rep and work on one of those more challenging projects after all this.
She has signed on to star in the miniseries adaptation of the film Orphan about a young girl believed to have dwarfism who is adopted by a family and turns out to be an older woman playing a child.
