Former "Bachelor" lead Nick Viall is calling out the current "Bachelor" lead Zach Shallcross for his treatment of the women during the last two episodes of the ABC reality show.
After seeing how Shallcross handled Jess Girod's concerns for not yet getting a one-on-one date and seeing how his conversation went down with Greer Blitzer via Zoom, Viall is not sugarcoating anything and is saying it how it is, even calling Shallcross a "total d*ck".
Nick Viall Calls Out Zach Shallcross For His Behavior
During Monday's episode of "The Bachelor", one of the contestants, Jess Girod, 23, was struggling after realizing she is the only one left who did not get a one-on-one date (aside from Greer Blitzer who was in COVID quarantine last week, meaning she could not receive a one-on-one date).
During the group date, Girod approached Shallcross to express her concerns and how she felt unseen and how she was losing confidence in herself, to which Shallcross attempted to hear her out, even going as far as saying he is confident in their relationship. However, after Girod brought up a one-on-one again, he seemed to sway decisions, quickly saying he is no longer confident in what they have, and ultimately, sent her home.
After watching the situation go down, Nick Viall spoke out on Twitter, calling out the lead of the show for how he handled the situation. "Zach is acting like the guy who gets mad at his girlfriend for not letting him know she wanted validation on her birthday #thebachelor," he Tweeted.
Nick Viall Says This Is Now 'Two Weeks In A Row'
The former "Bachelor" lead also brought up the controversial conversation between Shallcross and another contestant, Greer Blitzer, which occurred the week prior.
"That’s 2 weeks in row now Zach was a total dick to one of the woman. It’s literally all about the one on one. Zach knows that. He made Jess feel like she messed up for expressing a valid concern. #thebachelor," he Tweeted.
The week prior to the Girod situation, the 26-year-old lead had to conduct his cocktail party virtually due to the fact that he tested positive for COVID-19. During the Zoom cocktail party, Greer Blizter had the chance to speak to him, beginning their conversation by asking how Shallcross was feeling. She then tried to explain how she can relate to his situation as she confessed to contracting COVID-19 at the end of a sales quarter, resulting in her falling behind and missing out on things.
“I had COVID at the end of the quarter during year-end, so it messed with my career in sales,” Blitzer, who works as a medical sales rep, told Shallcross during their one-on-one time. “I know how you feel missing out on things.”
Shallcross did not hold back his feelings after hearing Blitzer say this, replying with “I think me missing out on finding a wife is slightly more important than your little sales problems.”
Shallcross Breaks Silence On Greer Blitzer Conversation
After the episode aired, Shallcross did speak out, addressing the conversation with Blitzer. “Watching it back, I completely empathize with her,” Shallcross told Variety. “I think she was really just trying to connect and relate with me when I had Covid, and really I was just already frustrated with everything kinda, you know, going on. You know, I definitely could have delivered my sentiment in a lot more of a respectful way, in a calmer way.”
He continued to take full responsibility, explaining, “It was just one of those conversations that just was off. No excuse, I should have responded better, so I totally, totally, 100 percent get where she’s coming from.”
Shallcross has not yet spoken out on the situation with Jess Girod. “The Bachelor” continues Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The episodes are available to stream the following day on Hulu.
