Teyana Taylor has been enjoying motherhood a lot lately as she recently dropped a surprise on everyone by announcing that she retired from music.
Fans have been asking her though to participate in the latest viral challenge, the “silhouette challenge.” This is where women start videos off in casual wear and then appear to be almost naked while in an all-black and red setting where their bodies are completely covered by the dark background.
Now, the R&B star has sort of given the fans what they want.
Teyana Surprises Fans By Having June Appear In End Of Silhouette Challenge
Taylor uploaded the video but it wasn’t necessarily what fans were expecting. She started off in a Support Black Colleges hoodie but when the black and red setting turned on, her daughter, Junie, suddenly appeared.
She trolled everyone by saying, “Hey y’all, this my baby momma and peace out.” This was definitely a cute moment but a lot of fans were expecting another sexy moment from Taylor. Nonetheless, the two still went viral and had another heart-warming mother and son moment.
Teyana Retired From Music Due To Feeling Unappreciated
Taylor initially announced her retirement from music in early December. She cited how she feels unappreciated and has received the “shorter end of the stick.”
“I ain’t gone front in times of feeling super under appreciated as a artist, receiving little to no real push from the ‘machine,’ constantly getting the shorter end of the stick, being overlooked … I’m retiring this chapter of my story with the comfort that i can depart with peace of mind seeing that all the hard work & passion put in was indeed loved & supported somewhere in the world!”
Taylor Was Also Named Creative Director For Pretty Little Thing
In December, Taylor still made another power move after the retirement announcement. This is that she revealed to her fans that she is the new creative director for the fashion brand, Pretty Little Thing.
She took to Instagram to announce the collab with the UK-based brand as she’s worn their apparel plenty of times before as well. This came in the midst of her 30th birthday announcement as well.
“I have officially been named CREATIVE DIRECTOR of @prettylittlething ??? We’re going to be collaborating on some amazing projects together and i cannot wait to get started!”
Fans Are Still Enjoying Taylor’s ‘The Album’ Project
Even with the retirement from music for now, fans still have Taylor‘s ‘The Album‘ album on repeat, which was released last summer on Juneteenth. It contained 23 tracks in total as it was divided into “studio” sections.
The Album was led by singles such as “Wake Up Love” featuring her husband and current Brooklyn Net, Iman Shumpert, and “We Got Love” feat. Lauryn Hill. The album debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart but surprisingly didn’t receive any 2021 Grammy nominations.
Taylor ended up blasting the awards show for not nominating any women in the Best R&B Album category.
