The cast and crew of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” is over the moon, given that they ruled the SAG Awards. Jamie Lee Curtis decided to up the ante in a stunning red dress and gave Michelle Yeoh, her co-star a smack on the lips to celebrate her win as Best Supporting Actress
The kiss has gone down in pop culture history and now Michelle Yeoh, who also cinched Best Actress for the same comedy-drama film, forever framed the moment for “nepo baby” Jamie Lee Curtis, on cupcakes.
Can we have one, please?
Jamie Lee Curtis Won Hearts With The ‘Nepo-Baby’ Speech
If the stunning red dress Jamie Lee Curtis wore wasn’t enough to win everyone over, her honest and heartfelt speech certainly was.
As her name was announced, Curtis wore a stunned expression before getting up and hugging her co-star, Michelle Yeoh, and giving her a smack on the lips.
Curtis then walked up on stage and took the mike, seemingly overwhelmed by all the applause. Said the “Freaky Friday” actress, “I’m wearing the wedding ring that my father gave my mother. My father was from Hungary and my mother was from Denmark and they had nothing. And they became these monstrous stars in this industry they love so much.”
She lightened the moment by adding that her parents hated each other by the end of it, but also clarified that she and her sister were born out of love. Getting a little teary, Curtis continued to say how her parents were actors and that she married one as well. And she loved actors and everything about her job.
She also said that there are many actors who don’t always get to work, continuing, “I know you look at me and think nepo baby, and I totally get it! But the truth of the matter is I’m 64 years old and this is just amazing!”
Have a listen! And don’t miss the “I say Michelle, you say Yeoh” holler at the end!
Fans seemed to be full of joy for her, with comments like: “You are an icon. Congratulations. Your Good Friend podcast brought so much joy and clarity to me during a very difficult time. Keep on shining and sharing that light you have!”
Selma Blair also wrote, “You are extremely amazing, and congratulations! Thank goodness for you in our lives.”
Michelle Yeoh Sent Jamie Lee Curtis Kiss Cupcakes!
If you have to have a friend, we want Michelle Yeoh because not only did she happily go along with Jamie Lee Curtis’ kiss, but she also sent Curtis a whole box of cupcakes (we counted 24!) with the kiss picture as the frosting.
Later on, Curtis could not believe that she had planted one on Yeoh, saying, “I kissed her? Did I really kiss her?”
Curtis laughed before she gushed more about Yeoh, and also talking husbands, “I love Michelle Yeoh. We love each other. We fell in love with each other. She’s married. I met her husband in England, he’s lovely. I also have a husband.”
Fans weighed in on the cupcakes, with one declaring, “This is so much better than the Brit/Madonna kiss.”
“Congrats on your win! Just want to say that you are beautiful and amazing!”
“so much love!”
Even Michelle Yeoh is all about sisterhood as she too declares that she’s in love with Jamie Lee Curtis from day one!
