Michelle Yeoh revealed that she was initially chosen for a different role in the film "Everything Everywhere All At Once."

She shared that the movie directors wanted her to play the wife of actor Jackie Chan in the movie.

"It was written for a man," the actress admitted about the comedy-drama script.

After Chan became unavailable, the script was flipped, and she ended up being chosen for the lead role.

The actress stated it was uncommon for the film industry to cast an older female in a lead part.

She lauded how the movie represented the narrative that women are "superheroes."

Yeoh starred alongside Stephanie Hsu, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ke Huy Quan, James Hong, Tallie Medel, Jennie Slate, and Harry Shum Jr.

"Everything Everywhere All At Once" won two Golden Globes in the most recent edition.

It was also nominated for multiple awards for the upcoming Oscars ceremony.
