Cardi B Sings Praises Of Community Service Experience: 'Almost Like A Spiritual Journey'

Cardi B has experienced a rebirth at her community service center!

The rapper, who was ordered to participate in the project by a judge, has been appearing at the New York Police Department Academy for a mentorship program. However, instead of performing the usual duties of labor-intensive service jobs, the 30-year-old has been working with teenage girls in a program called "Girl Talk." Cardi took to social media to share her thoughts on the work with millions of worldwide fans and followers.

Cardi's mandate to finish 15 days of community service by March 1 to avoid spending 15 days in jail came after she pled guilty to third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment last September. The rapper had been accused of physically assaulting two female bartenders in 2018, which she denied being involved in.

However, she was charged with two misdemeanors - assault and reckless endangerment, resulting in a years-long battle that was resolved last year. To fulfill her end of the bargain, the mother-of-two spoke to young girls in a police mentorship program, where she shared what the department called "her rags to riches story."

After the event, which also featured some dancing and photo-op, Cardi took to Twitter to gush about her new-found enlightenment. "Community service has been the best thing that has happened to me. Almost like a spiritual journey because sometimes I leave these centers in tears," the "Bodak Yellow" rapper began.

She noted that the people left behind at such places "just need somebody to talk," and with "a lil push," individuals "might be able to change their life forever." Fans trooped into the replies to agree with the rapper's sentiments, as one person tweeted, "it's always good to find light out of dark times."

"One of the best & proud things I've done," another fan acknowledged, and a third wrote, "I love this for you." A fourth claimed, "Baby girl, God's timing is always a journey. Stay on the journey, it is all apart of the process. Be blessed!" Meanwhile, a fifth fan wanted to know if Cardi would consider giving up her wardrobe.

The "Bartier Cardi" hitmaker had wowed fans when she showed them the designer pieces she was rocking to her community service gig. On February 21, the mother-of-two shared a mirror selfie of her outfit, featuring a black figure-hugging bodysuit, a gray Chanel beanie, and a pair of white Maison Margiela Tabi boots.

On the 22nd, she tweeted, "On my way to serve some community service time …..DONT COMMIT CRIMES!" above another mirror picture of her fit-of-the-day. This time, Cardi opted for pink Tabi boots, which she paired with a nude-colored bomber jacket, a white inner shirt, black bottoms, a pink animal beanie, and a matching Chanel bag.

The animal beanie returned the following day for a pairing with the white Tabi boots, matching pants, a long-sleeved top, and a Twitter caption that read, "Community service ….I have to do a lot of hours today and I'm very sleepy ……..YOU DO THE CRIME YOU DO THE TIME!!!!!."

The NRJ Music Awards winner opened up about her marriage to Migos member, Offset following their potential split in 2020. The Blast shared Cardi acknowledged that filing for a divorce after her husband cheated on her changed the course of their relationship.

"Me and Offset, we weren't seeing eye-to-eye. This was like, the same year I filed for divorce and everything. The main thing that I wanted him to stop and everything, he stopped and he changed, and it showed me that he wanted to change for me," the "MotorSport" rapper revealed.

The love between Cardi and Offset has remained clear for all to see, especially during milestone celebrations. To that end, the 2019 ASCAP Songwriter of the Year winner pulled out all the stops when her man turned 31 last December.

The Blast observed that she posted many images of herself and the celebrant at various moments of his life. After wishing him a happy birthday in the caption, Cardi unveiled that her desire was "God bless you & protect you."

The iHeartRadio Music Awards winner finished her caption with an appreciation to Offset for loving her, confessing, "I love your [SIC] 4ever & beyond❤."
