Is there no 'love story' between Hailey Bieber and Taylor Swift?

Shortly after social media was lit up by speculation Bieber was involved with Kylie Jenner's alleged eyebrow-related shade against Selena Gomez, fans are wondering whether Bieber once threw shade at Swift!

The possibility of tension between Bieber and Gomez has been an ongoing saga for years; Bieber had gotten cozy with Gomez's ex, Justin, shortly after the duo had called it quits in 2018. Bieber (ne´e Baldwin) would marry Justin in the fall of that year.

Bieber attempted to end speculation of an ongoing feud with Gomez in an interview with Alex Cooper of the "Call Your Daddy" podcast last year.

"It's all respect, it's all love," Bieber assured Cooper in the interview. "That's why I feel like if everybody on our side knows what happened and we're good and we can walk away with clarity and respect, then, like, that's fine. You're never going to be able to correct every narrative and there's going to be new ones that come," Bieber continued. "It's never going to end and that's why I get to the point- that's why I don't speak about all of this stuff," she went on. (per The Blast)

The duo would go so far as to pose for a photo together at an event; the internet collectively paused to honor the occasion.

Gomez would address the internet's fascination with the photo. "It's not even a thing," she told Vulture, per our report.

Bieber and Gomez's alleged feud seems to live on in infamy via TikTok.

Bieber once made a TikTok in an attempt to put a stop to the rumors, by addressing the countless Gomez-related comments she receives on the social network.

"Enough time has gone by," she would say in a TikTok from April, 2022. "I'm minding my own business. I didn't do anything. I don't say anything. Leave me alone, please." (via Seventeen, per The Blast)

Gomez would have to turn off the comments on a skincare routine TikTok completely unrelated to Bieber, but since Bieber had also posted a skincare routine TikTok of her own, fans wondered if the "My Mind And Me" singer made the TikTok to mock her ex's wife.

She would respond to the speculation by writing, "Guys no idea what I did but I really am sorry. Zero bad intention. Deleting soon," according to Seventeen.

Social media would soon bring Gomez and Bieber back together again via TikTok, and this time, Gomez's close friend, Swift, was involved.

On Thursday, a TikTok featuring footage of Bieber seemingly on a game show, putting her finger to her mouth in a gagging motion after the host mentions Swift, made the rounds on social media.

Gomez reacted to the circulated video by commenting, "So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game."

Fans would weigh in on Gomez's alleged slight by making their own TikTok responses and discussing the situation on Twitter.

One Twitter user alleged that the footage of Bieber had been taken out of context.

"selena commenting on a hailey bieber hate account video where they're calling her a 'duck man' and 'mean girl' over an out of context video where she's presenting a tv show, is actually crossing the line, thats not innocent, and it's disgusting and cruel," they tweeted.

Some fans were unhappy with Gomez commenting on the video, alleging her behavior may have been a bit questionable.

"Y'all does Hailey and Justin Bieber have a restraining order against Selena," one fan asked, tweeting a photo from "SpongeBob Squarepants," "I feel they need to do that because this can't be ordinary please."

"hailey is always constantly throwing digs at selena, she just keeps it very ambiguous but at least selena doesn't hide behind any shield. even kylie has a problem now simply bc selena has more followers than her i'm so tired of this sh*t," another fan weighed in.

"at this point she has on her search bar 'hailey bieber shading selena', and watches all of these videos taken out of context to comment. @selenagomez you're really weird and obsessed," another Twitter user wrote. "30 years old and still acting like a teenager trying to drag others for a MAN."

"people wondering why selena gomez [not] speaking til now on these hate videos hailey has done, well remember selena was not controlling her social media, she's finding out what this racist girl has been doing all these years," another fan chimed in. "you reap what you sow," they concluded.

As of this writing, Bieber nor Swift have responded to the rumors.
