Heartbroken Morgan Evans Calls Out Ex, Kelsea Ballerini, Over Comments On Their Divorce

Morgan Evans recently criticized ex-wife Kelsea Ballerini for allegedly not telling the whole truth about their recently finalized divorce. The singer said although he's not a public person, he had to address it and asked fans not to be mean to Ballerini. 

Evans' statement came shortly after Ballerini dropped the trailer for a new podcast episode in which she spoke about the divorce. She also recently released an EP with emotional songs about their marriage, titled "Rolling Up the Welcome Mat." 

Ballerini filed for divorce in August last year, and the former couple settled the divorce about two months later. While Evans has kept a low profile since their split, Ballerini has been romantically linked to actor Chase Stokes.

On Tuesday, Chase Evans took to Instagram to address the comments made by ex-wife Kelsea Ballerini on their marriage and divorce. He released the statement ahead of Ballerini's release of her tell-all episode on the  Call Her Daddy podcast.

Evans' statement read, "It's really sad for me to see this person, who I spent so much of my life with, and loved with all my heart, saying things that aren't reality and that leave out what really happened. She knows I'm not the type of guy to speak on those things publicly. If this is what she needs to heal, I hope it helps."

The country singer concluded the statement by asking fans on his social media not to be mean. Evans wrote, "All I ask is that if you're on my pages, please don't be mean. Don't be mean to Kelsea, don't be mean to each other. Life's too short."

The singer's statement came shortly after Ballerini dropped the trailer for her podcast appearance on Call Her Daddy, in which she shared the events that led to their "nasty" divorce. The 29-year-old revealed that by the time she filed for a divorce, she was already "sleeping on the couch" and was putting in all the effort alone. 

She said per Page Six, "I was just tired of showing up in that way all the time and not feeling like I was seen or matched." Ballerini also recently released an EP with emotional songs on their failed marriage and titled it "Rolling Up the Welcome Mat." In her recent interview, she criticized Evans for singing about their breakup in a new song. 

Ballerini told host Alexandra Cooper, "He's putting out a song about being blindsided. He's taking half the house that he didn't pay for. How was I married to this person for this long and I had no idea … that bit of character was tucked within that human being." 

According to Page Six, Ballerini filed for divorce from Evans in August 2022 after being married for almost five years. Two months later, the former couple reached a final settlement in the divorce process. According to court documents obtained by news outlet, the agreement was reached on October 24th, and they signed on November 3rd. 

Per the court filings, Evans and Ballerini had a prenuptial agreement already, which helped them decide to divide their joint assets, including their home in Nashville. The house has now been vacated and placed on the market, and the proceeds will be split in half between the former couple. 

Since the news of their divorce, Evans has kept a low profile and hasn't been linked to any woman. On the other hand, Ballerini has been at the center of relationship rumors with "Outer Banks" actor Chase Stokes.

The rumors began sometime last month after Stokes made a photo dump on his Instagram, including photos of him and Ballerini. The photos showed the rumored couple cuddled up at a football game. They were later spotted hugging and sharing kisses at a terminal in the Los Angeles airport. 

Although both Stokes and Ballerini have refused to speak on the relationship rumors, the "Roses" singer seemingly confirmed they were a thing during her Call Her Daddy podcast appearance. Ballerini revealed in the video that she's no longer single but kept mum about the identity of her new beau.
